Sorry for the delay - a hobby knife has the removable and replacable blades and is usually on a stick-type handle (kinda like a pencil). A utility knife also has removable and replacable blades but the blades are very long which are meant to be broken off at the scored place for the next sharp blade. The handle is larger and is used for less fine detailed purposes. They are often used in construction or to scrape windows or things like that. It is more utilitarian vs hobby and finer-detailed. HTH:grin:

The first picture is a utility knife. Utility knives come in a wide variety of sizes and the one I chose to show you is the smallest and most like the ones I use for my projects.

The second picture is a typical hobby knife. You can purchase them as a kit with varrying size blades that you change out for the one that's in it.

I went to Dollar Tree yesterday and bought my foam sheets. While I was there I noticed several empty display cases that would be perfect for just adding shelves for storage. I asked if they ever donated/sold these and the store employee told me they threw them out. I of course asked if I could have them..long story short she said yes and gave me two. I can't wait to add the dsp and shelves. They look like the scrapbook storage units that Michael's has on sale this week. Really sturdy and white with no writing on them. I can't wait to get busy this weekend. ~~~

Thanks so much for posting the pics. I did my best to verbally describe them, but a picture is worth a thousand words, as they say.

Well I have just found this thread and will for sure stop at my dollar tree this weekend! I went to the dollar tree website and you can buy through there, but you have to buy 50 sheets!

Thanks so much for the tutorial, I will for sure have hubby get to crack-a-lackin this weekend!

When you get your's crack-a-lackin maybe he can teach my hubby to crack-a-lack as well. I just love that crack-a-lackin. It made me smile - really big.
