I have found with my guillotine cutter (small WRMK) and my paper trimmer (SU - old model) that I will get a nice cut if I make sure I have my paper evenly lined up against the ruler's edge at the top and cut slowly and steadily while holding down the plastic guard. I move my hand safely along the guard while maintaining pressure during the cut and I stay pretty even with the blade while cutting. As for my cutters, I bought what I could afford. I think technique contributes a fair amount to successful cutting regardless of brand. Experts can probably cut quickly, but I am no expert and taking my time works best for me. I hope if you try this it works for you too. I know how exasperating it is having to start over, especially when you just want to get on with it even if it is just for fun and relaxation.<br>
