Well, Kathy, I know I have taken up enough of your time for one day. Thanks for visiting my blog. I have been doing it for a year, and want to get more consistent at it, but my first priority is keeping my teenage son straight. So the craft addiction must sometimes wait.

Sometimes I wonder will all the goodies I am hoarding now- be useable in 5-10 years when I am retired and can spend more time on cardmaking.
Take care of yourself, thanks again for everything and take care of that pretty ribbon (I'm going back to your blog to check out how many cards you have used ribbon on... (silly, I know...but that's me...) : D
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
    Rae

PS I just looked over at your BD. I was born between two sets of twins- one set was born November 12. The other set Jan 1.
This is really sad that it took me 5 messages to be able to send it all And I refused to edit one word!

And you may have me beat on the ribbon, but probably not by very much. But I do love your storage solution for it. Cause you can SEE it. My ribbon is in a drawer. Hard to use it when you can't see it.
I work for the Police Dept., and recently we had a training seminar on recognizing when one of your employees in on drugs or alcohol- and therefore unfit for duty...well I was listening to some of the symptoms they were giving us to recognize that person, and some of it sounded like me. Of course they said some of the symptoms of depression can look the same. That must be what I recognized, because I told you how often I drink, and I have never done drugs. It is amazing how things affect you and your body.

Well, imagine my surprise when I saw the photo you sent me! I am laughing because we are the same, you and I. As I said before, the biggest difference between us is that you had the courage to photograph your addiction.
I am way too chicken even though I know I am not alone.
I have a friend I met in JoAnne's Fabric Store (I live in Philadelphia). I was there shopping for my craft addiction, and she was there shopping for hers (she told me she spends approx. $400 a month and she is a stay at home mom). She makes me feel better because I told her I do not smoke and hardly drink (maybe 3 or 4 times a year I treat myself). I do not buy clothes or shoes for myself (rarely). Any and all extra money I have- I spend on new craft supplies, that I most likely will hoard. I am trying to start using my supplies more. I told this friend I have a "wall of paper". True story. I have about 18-20 cubbies filled with cardstock and patterned paper. Now how sad is that?

I am sorry to hear about your husband. I hope he is now back to work.
I was married for 16 years before my husband thought I was allowing myself to get old (think old, I guess, and maybe look old- smile) so he left. I never thought I would still be trying to get over it 4 years later. Although things are much better, it is still hard. I am raising a teenager, but one day I will have my life back. Everyone has a story, don't they?

I had to copy the url you left me for that picture, but you know I had to take a look. I cracked up laughing when I saw it. And this will make you laugh, when I saw the first photo that I commented on, I was counting the spools of ribbon in those bins. I figured you must have had about 130 or 140 spools of ribbon, but I was sort of surprised when I saw there was a lot of just a few colors.

    Hi Kathy,

Thank you so much for taking the time to send such a detailed message to me on the card pricing. If you don't like long responses, I hope you won't regret it. (Unfortunately, I have been long winded all my life)

People like my cards, but I am always afraid to charge too much when it comes to multiples (such as a set), so I practically give them away.

You are right about it not paying for much, but it is nice that you get to play, and someone pays you at all. (you in general, meaning all of us).
People always try to tell me how I should make this a business. They fail to understand that it takes you any where between 20 minutes and 2-3 days to create one card. I can spend a day just selecting the design, and then another day selecting the paper and embellishments...
    to be continued...
