I found the metallics, but can't find the deco colors anywhere...:(

Okay, now that these markers have been on sale at HL this week, I have purchased several of them. I just say that the "digability factor" is pretty high right now.
My questions are:
1. What are the "deco" markers; and
2. What is up with the Grays and the percentages (are they for shading?)?
I just got a set of prismacolor pencils and was lucky enough to find this. This is totally awesome. I do have a question in case anyone looks at this: How do you sharpen the pencils? My set came with a manual sharpener, but it doesn't work so well. Can you use an electric pencil sharpener for them? I hope someone answers me. Thanks again.

I use an electric with mine and they seem to work fine...

I used the manual one that came with the set and had no problem. I have since purchased a Panasonic battery operated one that has the rotating grinders (like the old school sharpeners) instead of a blade. It is the type recommended by pencil artists. It is something like KP-4. I paid about $15.

I have used prismacolor pencils for years, and I have always used an electric shapener. I have never had a pencil break, and one of my set's is over 7 years old.

Thanks so much! I just have a couple prismacolor pencils, I couldn't figure out which ones to match my SU stuff. Now I can go shopping!!! Thanks thanks thanks!!!
Estimates (or guesses) as to matches for new colors?
How about my 'wild' and 'off the cuff' estimates (ala JanTInk) as to which colors might match the new 2008-2009 In Colors? Anybody interested?
Here's what I think. Please be forewarned that I am working with MY printers interpretations of what MY monitor had on it from SOMEBODY's camera took a picture of. (Hmmmm...what does that say about my guesses???) Oh well, it is STILL just a guess!
Pink Pirouette...I'll send everyone hunting for another discontinued color...1014 Deco Pink
Riding Hood Red...hard choice but I'll try...923 Scarlet Lake or 924 Crimson Red
Tangerine Tango...921 Pale Vermillion or 1001 Salmon Pink (pink???)
Kiwi Kiss...1005 Limepeel (will this be a darker shade of River Rock?)
Baja Breeze...1087 Powder Blue or 1023 Cloud Blue
Pacific Point...1100 China Blue
Diane, thank you again! I will have to check my pencils when I get home, but I think last time when you predicted Deco Aqua for Soft Sky, I bought all the decos I could find. I am hoping I already have pink! Does PC come out with new colors every year? I am definitely a PC junky, I need another fix soon!

Can someone tell me what set i will get the most of the Stampin Up color matches? Is it worth it to get the 120 set or waste of money. I will get these because they match Stampin Up colors.
Where is the best place to buy them individually????
How do you organize your pencils? Do you put SU names on them so you know which they match?? Suggestions???
Kindly
Laural

Laural...Check out this thread: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
In post #7 I put my list of what colors are in each of the sets. You would have to go through and highlite which sets have which colors on the comparison chart since I have never done it. Personally I think (qualifying word there..."think"!) that it would be more profitable to get the colors singly. Unless of course you think you will use all the colors anyway.
Since the other day when I posted the previous post...I did some figuring on the sets and which is most cost effective to buy. I posted in Tool and Product Talk in this thread:
At Market Supply you can buy individual prismas for 89 cents each and the other sets are at great prices. I have purchased from them and have had excellent service. Here is the link girls: http://www.markersupply.com/artmarkers.html
I finally got to order my paper, so I now have the PC colors for the new in-colors...
Pink Pirouette...as I thought it will be 1014 Deco Pink Riding Hood Red...not a perfect match. Use either 924 Crimson Red or 925 Crimson Lake. 924 is too bright, 925 is too brown. Tangerine Tango...921 Pale Vermillion. Kiwi Kiss...1005 Limepeel. Baja Breeze...1021 Jade Green. Pacific Point...not a good match. Best color I could come up with is 1100 China Blue.
I am updating my chart that is in the first post, when I get done, I will get it posted.
Thanks so much for all your hard work I just bought a set of these. I have used individual ones before but never bought a set. I love having matching codes for these.
Does this list also work with the Prismacolor markers?
I am thinking I'd prefer prismacolor markers to copic markers and was trying to find a list of colors similar to SU.
Thanks in advance!
I don't use the markers, but I know that there are less colors in the markers than in the premier pencils. I'm sure some would be right, but many colors aren't available in the markers.
Just was thinking...someone in a post on this thread commented about matches for the markers...you might look back to the previous page...
Just looked back...check posts 181 and 184...HTH!
Does anyone have a list that compares the prisma MARKERS to SU MARKERS? I have the pencils but looking at adding some markers to my set.
Thanks
Try doing a search on this thread. If you mean a list of the colors for the markers, I'm pretty sure I've seen a list of colors for them in this thread.
HTH!
Thank you for posting that information on Marker Supply. I ordered 29 prismacolor premier pencils that matched up with the awesome list (matching SU colors) and with shipping am only paying less than $33.00. These are the colors I mostly use like soft subtles and earth tones. I'm somewhat new to cardmaking and all of you have such wonderful ideas and resources. You all rock!
Fionna - what a totally awesome thing for you to do! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for these match-ups.
Not sure if you have saved me money since I don't need to buy SU! markers or cost me money in order to get the PC pencils that are not already in my 72 color set. Either way - lucky lucky me!
Thanks for the list to match to SU colors. It's very helpful. But I have the 120 set and another set of 12 and I'm still missing about 10 matches. Where can I find the rest?? Did you find all of the matches in ONE set??? Or did you buy them individually?
