Default August 2022 - IFH22Aug

Greetings, it's August. Looking forward to what this month will bring? For me, it will continue to be HOT! It's best for me to stay inside and play with my paper supplies.

Here is the inspiration I bring to you this month. It starts with a quote from Henri Matisse.
"Don't wait for inspiration. It comes while working."
This quote is an important reminder that we don't always have an endless supply of inspiration to get us started. We just need to create anyway. Matisse suggests that once we start working, we unlock the creative juices and inspiration will start flowing, fueling us to continue working. Have any of you experienced this? My experience along these lines has! When I simply start something will begin to inspire me. It's hard, but try pulling out some photos and begin to gather the papers and embellishments. Pull more than you need. Take several papers, including scrap pieces if you have them, in the colors or style you think might work for the photo. Once I have them all laid out I can usually feel more inspired to bring them together to make a layout.

I've watch some YouTube scrapbooking videos recently and have been inspired just by how the papers were put together. Remember, you don't have to use just a single background. Mix patterns and shapes on a solid for starters. Once you have your base idea laid out (don't paste down until you are totally ready - there really isn't a rush if you are actually creating!) then you can run through placement and what extras to add.

Coming across an older layout of mine shows an example of how this might inspire you to "gather" and play.
Example: Love you (12-28-2013) by AnniePanda at Splitcoaststampers

This little "tiny tot" of mine just turned 11 - Happy birthday Leia!

So, your challenge is to gather supplies, lots of supplies and all the little goodies, and see what inspiration comes to you!
Please share your adventures with us here. Tell us how your endeavor went because it will continue to inspire others. Link your upload back here if you will so we can visit.

Use Keyword ifh22aug
Note: This posted layout isn't for you to scraplift, it is to give you an idea for gathering your supplies and beginning to play with them.

I love that quote, Joyce Ann. Another one I like is by Aristotle: “well begun is half done.””

yours is better, but just reminded me of the other.
thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks, Sharon!
Your added quote applies to us crafters also. I think that when we begin with a positive attitude and follow through with how we plan our beginning will determine how the projects will continue.

I followed your idea, Joyce Ann. The results came out better than when I normally do this. LOL

Here are 2 more pages for 2021 I completed today. I started looking for cardstock & DSP last night & really had trouble choosing the color. I finally went to bed & it came together today! I thought I was almost finished with 2021 but went through photos Friday nigh & now I have probably 4 more events & some random photos! At least they're all printed & organized. I used a CTMH Flip Flap so there are 3 photos.

So funny, Lou Ann, that you posted a crafty layout. I had just finished mine about crocheting, too.
Thanks for joining this challenge.

I finally did August's inspiration challenge. I was looking for photos for the calendars I make every fall to give at Christmas and realized I could quickly make this page for my daughter!
