Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
This week I'm proposing textures and layers (which is totally not my comfort zone). However, I'm 100% sure I'll learn a lot from those of you that are masters at layering. As a theme, I've selected "inchies" or "miniature" art. To get your creative juices flowing we will be using a beautiful "Inchies Board on Pinterest"!
As a special treat, Giovana (aka giogio) will also be joining in and inspiring us as guest hostess this week. Giovana has been inspiring stampers on SplitCoastStampers since 2007!! So I'm so excited that she had the time to join us this week!
Challenge Goals:
Don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image reminds you of it. Rather, take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the images. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today. Please be sure that all of your descriptions have a link back to your inspiration piece available only from the Inchies Pinterest Board (by S. van Dijk).
Use the keyword: IC481 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded seven of my favorites...so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger. Please let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge.
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.

Audrie- great site! I was inspired by the vivid colors of this creation and used my birthday stamp set, SU's Darling Dragons, along with this vintage St. Patrick's Day card, sponged and blinged (F4A261). Put on a sewn panel "sky" background, and added a scalloped red polka dot vertical panel, along with 3 ribbons. Here's Irish Dragon

All of the Pinterest pictures were so great! I guess the one that gave me the best idea for my card was this one: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/396105729696686478/
although it really is nothing like what I did.
I guess that's what this challenge was about---INSPIRATION!

I loved the concept of an Inchie booklet. One you can flip to a page for the day, or perhaps hang from your car, flipping pages for a pick me up or inspiration.
It took me last night and most of today to work out all the kinks...it is amazing how long something so small takes to make. I thought I was done and DH said nope, you need to have something on the back of every page... /sigh so back to work I went...
