Inspiration Challenge 226 ~ William Chambers Millinery
I have a rather pumpkin-shaped head, so I’ve never managed to look good in hats … however, they still fascinate me. Easter reminds me of Easter bonnets … and I love the look of a woman in a really cool hat.
So to celebrate really cool hats, this week’s Inspiration Challenge site is William Chambers Millinery. Taking inspiration from sources as diverse as ethnic head-dresses, British birds, and the Glasgow architecture, William seeks to modernize millinery with a fresh look at how we dress the head today. He mixed traditional materials such as felt and synamay with contemporary materials like latex, plastic, and metallic leather, creating headwear that is both challenging and desirable.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many choices, I have uploaded three of my favorites … so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. For the rest of you, remember to link us up to the item from William Chambers Millinery that inspired you.
Use the keyword: IC226 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.
Oh, Stef! I am going to have trouble choosing. Need to hit the sack, but I sure will be back in the morning to lust over wonderful hats, and hopefully pick one for a card. Thank you so much.
Thanks, Stef, for posting early. I, for one, certainly appreciate it. It's been a long day and promises to be a busy week-end.
I was able to do this one before I went to bed. I kept my design simple and this site seemed to lend itself to that....that is also appreciated! This is one of my favorite challenges and I would have hated to give it up if I thought it would be too involved for my limited time.
Wow! What wonderful hats! Love it, Stef! Here's my Clothed with Strength. Hope y'all don't mind that I included it here. I saw the challenge when I was uploading and it looked like it would fit in well. Thanks so much for looking!

Not being the sophistiacted, soigne type I couldn't wear half those hats, but there are some I could and would - I love hats .
I've picked my inspiration, now I just have to stop being lazy, get out bed and get creating. Love the first thumbnail, but I think I've used up all my copper foil.
What a cool challenge, I've never done an inspiration challenge. I am going to try to participate, but of course this is a busy weekend. I'll be late as usual! I love love love this website, great idea!
I don't wear hats except when I work outside but I think these hats are super cool!! I just can't see me in them but it was fun. Have a great Easter and here is my "hat": IC226 by Zigzag at Splitcoaststampers.
Location: Somewhere in MN, trying to find all the lost flip flops....

I just bought 2 hats yesterday, not from a fancy designer ~ from the thrift store, for my DDs' dress up box I'm sure they were a lot cheaper than William Chambers' designs, but definitely not as beautiful...
