Didn't know this thread was here! I used to have so many stamping pals around home, but our local stamps stores have gone awol, and so have the activities we shared! My name is Andrea, but I usually go by "Andi". I am a nurse working/supervising a rehab unit in Menomonee Falls. I reside in Milwaukee. My current passion is ATC's, though I have also done much work in card making, and some scrapping-sort of a newbie still in scrapping. I've also done altered books, dolls and jewelry. Have written for SSReflections online stamping/scrapping magazine, but "retired" when I got too busy to keep up with deadlines. Have taught at Michaels as well as local stamp shows.
My SCS addiction is the PAT ATC swaps and I've made many new friends there. I am a life-long resident of Milwaukee, have 2 grown sons, and a Golden Retriever. John Marshall 77 graduate.....Packer fan....rabid crafter and gardener! Love to read and write also. Hope to make some local pals here!

Hey! Hello from a Marshall '73 grad and Packer fan. Now residing in Appleton but wanted to say hi.
Hiya Martha! I have family living in Appleton, Greenville actually. SIL is a teacher in Greenville's school system, nieces both graduated from Hortonville HS. BIL works at KC Aviation. Are there any stamp stores up there? Used to be the Stamp Patch, I think...went there once. I know you gals have an Archivers, too. That makes me very jealous. (LOL)
Marshall is NOT what it used to be, and that makes me very sad. It looks like a prison now. When we went there, it was such a beautiful school. Now, stainless steel doors, bars on the windows. People meet you at the door with walkie talkies and wearing a sidearm. Did you go to Bagels and Bialys after school? I did! That's gone now too. Oh well, at least I have some good memories. Nice to hear from you! Andi

I guess nothing is ever the same 30 years later. I went to Our Lady of Sorrows grade school. The church seems to be closed but the school is under another name. I drove by there a few weeks ago showing my daughter around my old stompin' grounds.
We do have a lovely Archivers store and also one called Scrapbook and Stamping Memories (right next to a lovely bakery and chocolate shop! Talk about temptation!) We just got a Michael's to add to the Joann's and HL. I hope the smaller stores stay open.
I live in Appleton also---I love the chocolate shop. Their icecream is the best during the summer! Every kiddo that comes in gets a free cone! A little icecream for the kids, a little chocolate for mommy, a win-win situation!

Martha, OLS was my parish, and I recall Monsegnior Schmidt nearly putting me to sleep at mass! I did commentate at 5:00 mass many times throughout the years. I always wanted Fr. Grellinger because he whipped through the service-LOL! Plus, he was funny at sermon time. Remember May Ball? CYO? Did you belong? I think you graduated when I was in 9th grade. You know what's sad? They filled Dineen Pool in with dirt. I used to live a block away and was there every day and some nights during the summer, practicing for Catalina Club. CYA! Andi

I'm a '74 grad from James Madison - now living in Hartford. I work just next to Hwy 45 between Hampton and Capital but don't go to the city for anything other than work anymore - it's too scary to do anything else on that once-was-nice northwest side!
OMGoodness! I didn't even know this thread existed! I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but will as soon as I get a sec (on my way to work right now). Hello from McFarland ... little town just SE of Madison!

Oh my! what a lot of us there are ... and what a lot of gatherings I've missed!
For anyone who doesn't already know, there's a big stamp & scrappers gathering in Madison at the Aliant Center the weekend before Thanksgiving. I can't go this year, but it's been fun in the past.

This Saturday Club Scrap which is located in Appleton WI, (technically Greenville) is having their annual Warehouse sale. If you're not familiar with them, they are a by mail company (no I don't work for them) based on monthly subscriptions for scrappers, stampers and digi scrappers.
Non members can buy some stuff from their website too.
I went to the sale last year. They have beautiful paper which should be your main reason for going. They have other stuff on sale such as their kits to make stamping projects but their sales on these items is not a huge discount but 20% or so for the stuff you'd really want. Just thought I'd share. I'm not sure if I'll make it. I may go later in the afternoon after the crowds die down. I hate crowds.

It is going to be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church which is right behind the Family Dollar Store. You may remember Family Dollar as Bob's K Market or Zastava's grocery store.
Mornin Ladies!
Baby it's COLD outside!!! LOL!
I'll be heading to Friendship (thanks muchly Elaine and Mel!), if only to meet some of you IRL. It makes it so much more fun when we're chattin here.
There are some of us who'll be meeting up Jan 31 at the Culver's in McFarland, just a stone's throw from Gina K Designs. Gina's is having an open house that day (10:00 - 3:00) with lots of things going on. Any SCS ladies who want to meet each other, oggle each others cards/scrapbook pages/etc and chat over a bite to eat, there will be an SCS table at Culver's 11:30 - 1:30 (look for the table with a balloon centerpiece, I promise it'll be easy to spot! LOL!).

He graduated in about '82. Sorry, don't know the Vaughn's. Know any Sarauers? Harold & Betty?
Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I have lived in Iowa for 24 years, but Wisconsin will always be HOME to me. Lived in Sparta for the grade school years, La Crosse, Eau Claire and eventually Onalaska. Graduated in '80 form La Crosse Aquinas - anyone else out there?? Have brothers in Waukesha and Appleton.
When I first started reading this thread and hearing about the 105 heat index, I thought it was a joke (as our WIND CHILL has been reaching 40-50 BELOW ZERO in Iowa the past 2 days!!) Then I saw that this thread was started in July of '05!!
the temps you listed for Iowa are what we have in Wisconsin today--so it is all over the midwest.

Hello Former Wisconsinite! I live in Appleton now after 18 yrs in NJ. Grew up in Milwaukee. I started out the day with power being off for 2 hours in the sub-zero temps. Fortunately I have a warm quilt so I stayed in bed until after the furnace kicked back in and had run for awhile.
Hi Martha. I was wondering if our furnace was out of order this morning, but I think its just working overtime. One of my daughters called to say her apartment has no heat and its 62 in there now, and now one in the office to tell. She's a college student. I told her to stay with a friend if need be. It will get alot colder during the night!!
I work in the school system and we haven't had school the last 2 days because of the windchills - and now they have already called for a 2 hour delay tomorrow. I am ready for spring!!
Kathy
Anyone in Merrill??? I have been contacted by a friend from Trinity Church who is looking for some stamping or scrapbooking supplies. The Church is helping a family who lost everything in a house fire this last weekend. Not only are they helping with clothes and household items, but they want to give a little happiness with the rubber stamps and scrapbook items. The mother loved to stamp and lost her two daughters scrapbooks in the fire. If there is anyone willing to donate some items that they are not using, wether it is a stamp or ink pad or paper. It would all be appreciated.
If you would like to donate please PM me or if you are in Merrill drop your donations in the office at Trinity Church on West Main Street.
Has anyone applied to the "crafternoon" cardmaking fun in West Allis held on June 6th posted by ViVi's mommy. I have tried to get a hold of her and it will not go through. Does anyone know what I am talking about? nookers 63
