I think I have decided on a design for my swap card (finally)!!! I will look at it a few days to be sure I still like it!!! Now if my new paper cutter would arrive so I can start making the kits! Waiting, waiting, waiting.............
We will be calling door prizes during the meal breaks. This way everyone can enjoy their goodies instead of trying to enjoy them and finish up cards at the same time. (Plus, this gives me time to work on my cards, too. ).
I'm looking forwarding to seeing everyone on Saturday!
Hugs,
Suzy
P.S. Please pass this info along to those who need it.
Yup! Most of us will carry around our own scissors in a little tote thing. I didn't have a tote the first time, but I bought one!
Good point for those who might be new to shoebox swaps. It will help you out if you bring along a small tote of some sort to carry your tools from station to station. It doesn't have to be anything fancy - even a pencil cup will work just fine. What to bring? Any tools that you usually like to have with you. Here's what's generally in mine:
paper snips
adhesive (with a refill/extra - 35 cards is a lot!)
bone folder
self-locking tweezers
blender pen or aqua painter
sanding block (for smoothing the occasional shaggy cardstock edge)
extra dimensionals/glue dots
fine black pen (I bring a Copic multiliner) - can fill in that tiny missed spot on your stamping so you don't have to start all over
Stamp-a-ma-jig
Tylenol
bandaids (I always manage to cut myself with my paper snips!)

The bandaids made me laugh! I would have never thought of that but sounds like you have lots of experience, with cuts that is!!!
I know that we have a few newbies this weekend and I wanted to touch on door prizes....
The 1st rule is, "if you wish to win a door prize, you need to bring a door prize." When you arrive and check in you will be asked if you brought a door prize, if you did, your name will be added to the door prize "hat". Everyone's name will go in the "vendor" door prize "hat" so everyone has the chance to win. I wasn't able to secure a boat load of prizes like we had in the past. We have a few "vendor" door prizes (more like a handful) that we will be giving away.
The 2nd rules is that the value of your door prize should be anywhere between $20 and $30. If you want to go more than that, then know that is your choice and you may not get a prize that has the same value. Some examples of door prizes can be found here on SCS. Some people make their prizes and others purchase them.
I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend!
i've been cleaning out my studio and i have a TON of SU! cardstock scraps. i'm no longer a demo and i need to make room. they are sorted (for the most part) and are in a plastic crate. if anyone is interested in these (FREE!), i can bring them on saturday. please EMAIL ME if you are interested. I'm so sad that I am not going to be able to come. I was in a car accident today. A guy rear-ended me, because he just looked down for a minute. gggrrr I spent several hours at the hospital. I'm okay just sore and buised. The er dr. said I will hurt for the next few days, and she wasn't sure if I would have to do physical therapy. I was packed and ready to come. I hope everyone has fun. I can't wait to see all the pics. of the cards. Have fun!
