PLEASE NOTE: This is designed as a SplitCoastStampers Community Event. You are welcome to invite any friends, but we do ask that they register a screen name here at SplitCoast and post a message to this thread in order to attend. Each registrants screen name MUST be included on their registration form! We will also post a Get-to-know you thread later as things get rolling and ask that you participate there if at all possible. It really makes the event more fun when you have chatted with people ahead of time a bit.
Also NOTE: We are starting an hour earlier this year to accommodate MORE people and also to accommodate a brand new activity this year an additional Make-n-Take sponsored by Stampendous!
This Event brought to you by SCS'ers
Joy (JoyOfStamping), Jami and Emily (WaterPixie)
We'll have:
* Get-Acquainted time
* Shoebox Swap (see below for details)
* SCSM Make-n-Take by Emily (WaterPixie) and Taylor (Tayloredexpressions)
* Make-n-Take sponsored by Stampendous (NEW this year!!!)
* Name Tag Contest (Cool prize!)
* Door Prizes drawings all day
* Prize drawings for those who participate in our get-to-know-you challenges posted in the weeks before the event
* Snacks Potluck
* Roster of participants
* DINNER
You need to bring:
* Your name tag - with both your name and your SCS Screen ID on it. We'll have a contest for best name tag. Name tag contest is No Vendor Restrictions so have fun with your favorite stamp companies.
* A shoebox project for 10 people to make (+extra supplies for 2 in case of mess-ups or if time allows for an extra project). Plus 2 finished samples of the project - 1 to leave with the box and 1 for the display board. The display board samples will be donated to Ronald McDonald House. Everyone will rotate around and get to do 10 different shoebox projects. Projects should be cards that can be completed in 10 minutes or less. Size should be standard A-2 (4.25 x 5.5) or 4.25 square is ok - Nothing smaller. If you want to do something larger youll need to provide envelopes. Cards are preferred but if you want to do a non-card project or a set of multiple mini cards you will need to e-mail a picture to Emily for approval.
The project must use Stampin' Up current supplies cardstock, stamps, ink, etc (with the exception of any embellishment not sold by SU). SCSM is known for top quality projects be sure your project is something you would be happy to come home with and show off. See the gallery from last year for examples. Samples must be made with the SAME supplies that you have in your box, not just something similar. When the people doing your swap see how wonderful yours is, they want to do their best to duplicate it. When you use one item for the swap but bring something else for them to use to complete it, it can be very frustrating for them since they can't get the same results. i.e. if you use Watercolor Wonder Crayons on your project, please supply them with those to complete it, as opposed to something similar like watercolor pencils. We want everyone to have an enjoyable time, and being able to duplicate the fabulous shoebox swaps is a big part of the fun for everyone. Please let us know if you have any questions. Make sure your name is on everything!!!
* A scrubber and stampin mist with your name on it.
* Stamped Item for a raffle door prize (limit one per person please) - this should be valued at $5-$10. Think of stamped gift items (notebook and pen, coaster, candle, etc. or cello with topper filled with embellishments, etc.) Door prize should have your name in or on it somewhere so winner knows who brought it. Prize does not need to be wrapped...unless it is in cello or something so it is visible. For value of hand-stamped items think about what you might sell it for to a customer or at a Craft Fair.
Absolute maximum value of $10 PLEASE!!! No vendor restrictions on materials used for the door prize.
* Optional - snack item to share finger foods only please sweet or salty or fruit or veggie or whatever. 12 pack of bottled water or 2 bottles of soda. Please let the potluck coordinator (
tbd) know if you plan to bring a snack or a beverage. Everyone who brings something for the potluck will be entered into a drawing for a special prize!
We will provide you with a bag for your completed projects.
Please bring a piece of ribbon or fiber to tie to your bag handle to help you easily identify your bag.

REQUEST:
Joy and Emily and I will not be participating in the shoebox projects or the swaps due to our responsibilities the day of StampMania. We are totally fine with this and very much enjoy running the event. The only bummer thing is that at the end of the day we won't have any of the awesome cards to take home with us. So here's our request for anyone who would like to help us out. If you would like to make extra samples of your shoebox project ahead of time for us we will have 3 RAK baskets at the event (one for each of us). This is totally voluntary and in no way required. I guarantee all cards received will be greatly appreciated by all 3 of us!!!!! Thank you!!! ETA: We will add a 4th RAK basket for Taylor since she will be helping with the M&T all day.
There will be no Optional Swap this year. If people want to do convention style swapping outside ONLY prior to the event that is up to you. If discussion about this topic is needed you are welcome to start a separate thread, but we request that it not be discussed on this thread as it has caused confusion in the past. Thanks.
