Gayla, I don't have the key today and arranged to meet Janet at 9. On my way in a minute. I always have these crazy last minute ideas of things to bring along so I'm collecting those now.
wow! what a fun day! Thanks EVERYONE for being so kind to US newbies! Linda, you can rock a gathering out of the park and what a great setting for a gathering, great lighting and plenty of space.
Linda ~ You and your helper's did an AMAZING job today!!! As I mentioned to you at the event, TODAY was the best ever Get-It-Together event that I have attended! The space was wonderful, there was plenty of elbow room, TONS of GREAT food, organization was definately well thoughtout!!! THANK YOU for hosting such a wonderful event!
To ALL of the Ladies who attended ~ THANK YOU so very much for a very funn filled day of friendship, laughter, and delishious food!
To the ladies who did tables 1 & 3 with me..... It was a delightful pleasure getting to chat & create with all of you today! I had a blast!
Oh, and since someone mentioned that I post messages with ALL of the colors in the crayon box.... these colors are for YOU! :p
One final things for now.... I WANT THE RECIPE for the yummy salad stuff with the weird named ingredient! You were in my group! Could you post it here on the thread or PM it to me?
We had a good time In Oswego. I showed DH the river walk area, the lakeside at campus, Tyler Hall Art Gallery where I used to be a Gallery Guard, and then we met up with the graduate and our friends after the ceremony (not enough tickets for us to attend). We helped move Kelsey out of her room and then went to Vona's for dinner and cake. We were even give a few little gifts for being back up for four years in case Kelsey needed help since her parents live in NH. And a Birhtday gift of tropical blue fused glass earrings from my two suitemates. So nice. to spend a special day with special friends!
I vacuumed the living room when we got home because AZ friends are coming to spend Sunday with us. I finally have all my craft stuff upstairs and the living room is bare! Of course, my dressing room and craft room are piled high now but at least the downstairs is presentable for company!
Thanks to everyone for a great day yesterday -- the food, the shoebox projects, the swaps, the generous door prize donations, and the friendships - both old and new.
I know there were several popular food items. Feel free to share your recipes here if you are willing.
As usual, if you have any suggestions for improving the day, I would love to have them but do send them to me in a PM or email. New folks can expect to see an email from me specifically asking about their experience.
There were several suggestions made at dinner last night and some of those will be incorporated into our next event -- remember, it's November 2nd.
One thing that I completely forgot to mention yesterday -- a big thanks to Sherry C for the card packets that were included in all your goodie bags. I know you'll figure that out when you really look at your goodie bags, but I did really mean to say it out loud. Now I have.
Also, about goodie bags...now that I've done the personalized goodie bags a few times, I think I can safely say that we will plan on future bags to be valued at $15. That's been the target I've hit and I can add on with little extras (like the tea time trinkets and clips) if I need to increase the value. That should make your lives easier as you'll only have to give me a wish list with a single total -- and it will make my life easier as well. Hooray!
Oh, something else I meant to mention yesterday (I really need a book of notes, not just a page):
When it's time to get up a thread for the next event, I generally find myself thinking, "Who can I get to head up the swaps and/or the tables?"
If you may be interested in doing this at the next event, drop me a note to say so. There are a few "duties" and I'll be glad to share more info with you if you need it before making a commitment. Please understand that I cannot pick everyone, either.
Thanks to everyone for making yesterday so much fun. I loved all of my shoebox projects. I thought it was a wonderul balance to have some CAS items and some more "get me out of my box" projects. I learn so much from everyone at these events.
Thank you Linda for organizing this -- I've really had a lot of fun at your events. Thank goodness I didn't stop coming after the first one I attended because they've only gotten better.
Good Food. Good projects. Good company. Great Fun. Thanks everyone.

Christi, if you did the recipe swap the quinoa salad is in there. Cheryl said yesterday's dressing was a bit different. Delish all the same! The spinach strawberry recipe was included as well. If you didn't do the recipes I'd be happy to share it.
