MD, Ft. Meade Big Shot SBS 05/19/12
Amanda and I are co-hosting a new type of SBS - this one requires a Big Shot and a chunky/thick Sizzix die. Not everyone needs to bring their Big Shot, but we need to make sure we have plenty in the room, so we don't have lines waiting to use them. If you are willing to bring your machine and cutting pads, please let us know.
This swap will be on Saturday, May 19, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the same building as the other swaps at Ft. Meade (Potomac Place Center, 4998 Second Corps Boulevard).
There is room for 15 people to sign up. Keeping it a smaller crowd, since there will be projects and cards to make. And bring your extra cardstock to cut out some die cuts from dies that you might not own.
Each person will sign up for a different die, so we'll have 15 different dies there to play with. They do not have to be dies that only Stampin' Up sells.
You will not be cutting the die cut out ahead of time for each participant. You will bring your die along in your box with all the other supplies needed to make your card or project. If you have one of the extra long dies, please make sure you have your cutting plates.
Please make sure you pack your sticky strip or some strong adhesive for the projects, so they stay together. Keep this in your own tool bag - not in your box. Same with dimensionals - just have them on hand in case you need them for someone's swap.
There is a $10 non-refundable charge per stamper to cover the paper products, prizes, etc. Please fill out the attached form and mail in your $10 fee to reserve your space. No children under 18 years of age please.
Please bring enough supplies for everyone to make your card/project including all cardstock, stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, dies, etc. Please also bring your own basic stamping kit, which should include your adhesive and scissors to use on all the projects we make. Please make sure all of your supplies (stamps, ink pads, scissors, punches, etc.) are labeled with your name, so we all go home with the stuff we brought. Each stamper is to have a sample and typed instructions in their box telling how to make their card/project. Everyone should have their swaps in baggies or envelopes containing everything each stamper needs to do your swap. This helps everything run smoothly.
There are no vendor restrictions on any of the items. Just that the die needs to be a thick type die. Nestabilities or embossing folders cannot be used unless they are in addition to the die for your project.
Lunch will be potluck, so please sign up for something yummy to bring.
There will also be space to set up for a craft yard sale for anyone who has some items they'd like to find a new home for. Please bring items with your name and price already on them.
So here is what you'll need to bring/sign up for:
Your swap with everything for 14 stampers to make your card/project
Sign up for what die you will be using
Sign up for your potluck item
Sign up if you are willing to bring your Big Shot for others to use
Extra cardstock to cut out additional die cuts to take home
Any crafty type yard sale items you'd like to get rid of
We are looking forward to a fun day and something different to try. I can't wait to see what types of dies you all sign up for, since there are so many different ones available.

OMG, Ms. Kimme is alive and she is "saying" she will come.....seeing is believing....................I personally think an alien took over her body and will ask if the real Kimme will please stand up! Hey Amanda, not fair, you have my die.......... and am I paid for this? I know we swapped a $10 "IOU" for an "I'm already paid so you can't keep me out" but I don't know which "I'm already paid and you can't keep out" project. Let me know. I will bring a chikcen nugget tray from Chick Fillet, as the hubs calls it! Makes me think of Stacy, she was always good for chicken from there.
Oh, and by the way, it is hump day! I am half way through this week and I "think" I can make it. Have a wonderful stamp day. Did anyone else have trouble getting their subscriptions today?

We are half full already - yeah!
Amanda, just let me know when you receive payments, and I'll update the list.
I've signed up the following to bring their Big Shots too - Amanda, Jane, and Connie. That will give us 5 so far including mine. We could use a few more, so there isn't any waiting for machines.

Angie, the "thick" dies are on pages 220-223 in the SU catty. They don't have to be a SU die however; just a thick one. Tim Holtz makes some, Sizzix does too. If you need a die, just holler. I have a lot of the Sizzix ones here.
