I like the idea of a shoebox swap! Maybe we could plan it for somewhere in Gainesville, if we get enough people interested. So far though, I only see Lynnor/icensheba saying you're nearby and available to do something. Is there anyone else who's interested in a Gainesville and/or Lake City area meetup?
I've also found a place in Florida that hosts scrapbooking retreats in Inverness, FL, which would be quite convenient for people from Orlando as well as the Gainesville area. Of course, anyone from other areas are welcome too! http://www.scrapbookseason.com/ It would cost $800 for reserving it Friday through Sunday for a group of 12, and they have a lot of tools available so you don't have to bring all your own. I could bring my Stampin' Up! things, also, since they probably don't have those. We'd have to arrange our own meals, but there's a full kitchen at the retreat home. If anyone's interested in scheduling a weekend there, I'd LOVE to do that sometime next spring!
Headed to a ScrapPink crop tomorrow afternnon at my LSS in Ocala. Will be held all day Saturday as well. She has several clubs who come in regularly. I can check to see what she would be willing to host and at what cost and then compare. There is also a community center here in Citra that is available for events. It can be rented for 6 or 12 hours and has kitchen facilities. We would have to bring all our own toys, but the cost would be less than $150 for 12 hours I believe.
I have a pretty large circle of stamping sistahs and some of these ladies will be wanting to get in on whatever we do.
Probably won't see me back here until Sunday, but I will be back to let you know what I have found on this end.
I brought up the Four Seasons place because it'd be a way for me to get away from my family for a whole weekend. Being a SAHM, I don't get much time away.
Driving is a little bit of a problem for me sometimes due to health issues. It takes me a good hour and a half to get to Ocala from here, definitely not something my husband can drop me off at, which is why I offered to host a get-together. I've never done this before though, so input on how to go about it, and what everyone would like would be very helpful.
I'm in central florida, and we are going to do crops and cardmaking starting back up in Oct. If thats not to far or you are right maybe we can get a place and do a day and night things I use to have them all the time in michigan but everything went up in price, so lets make a plan, I have a good group you can count in!!!

Where in Central Florida are you? If you aren't too terribly far from Melbourne, I would probably be interested in joining your group.
I live in Sanford, which is North Orlando. I have some friends who work at a hotel and might be able to get a room there. Also, the library is usually free. Let me know who is in Central Florida and a date and I can start planning it.
It's been a while since I've been to Sanford. I lived there until 2002.
Sarah - I'm in Jacksonville too! We're up there for weeks at a time because my husband is working up there. Are you new to Jacksonville or just to SCS? I'd be happy to get together with you. Let's share some info and try to work out a time and place to get together if you'd like to. Send me a message and let me know!

Does anyone happen to be near Palm Coast? I'm a Wisconsin stamper but go to Palm Coast for long weekends 4 times a year. I'd love to break away from family in between to do some stamping OR if you have events would plan my trip dates around an event that I could attend!
