Does everyone want to do holiday cards for our shoebox swap? I know I'm trying to get a headstart on them & would welcome the inspiration!!!

Do you happen to know if they sell Penny Black stamps? My local stamp store (Simple Pleasures) here in the Springs no longer carries any PB... well, they three that are really old! I wouldn't mind driving north!
Hello! Sorry I have not been very chatty here lately! My new job keeps me really busy. It's a harsh reality check after my last job where I could read a book a day and mess around on SCS for hours! LOL! Now I spend very little time on the internet at work and when I get home I might check my e-mail and read the posts on here but I don't spend much time on the computer! I really like my new job and the paycheck yesterday was AWESOME!
Carisa, I am so happy I met you the other night and thank you for bringing my PTI order to my door! I opened all the paper just to touch it and it is very nice! I hope I can do some stamping with it tomorrow or Monday. I love your new blog... like I told you Thursday, I am in a "Be Fit By Thirty" club myself! Are you on the job hunt too? I am thinking of you!
Angela, I was looking forward to meeting you too at Archiver's but had a rather traumatic experience and didn't get home till 6:30 and did not want to go out again!
I would love to meet the rest of you too! I will put the 14th in my Palm. What time are you meeting again? I am nervous about the shoe-box swap. I am not very confident in my creative abilities yet but I am sure I can come up with something (it always takes me 3 tries)! I don't have any Bella stamps so I would vote for an "anything goes" swap. I am all for the Christmas card swap too but maybe Carisa and I are over-ruled!
Definately, with my pay raise, I will invest in more stamps eventually but first hubby and I have TONS of home improvements to do. In fact, we bought paint for our kitchen walls and cabinets today. We are going to be taping tonight and painting tomorrow. That's what holiday weekends are for, right?
Anyway, I hope you all have a great Labor Day!

Sorry, I don't think she carries Penny Black stamps. Although you should contact Mary Kay because she's always happy to do whatever is in her power to help you find whatever you are looking for. They rock!!

I think an anything goes swap will work just fine. And Carisa - I've already made over 60 holiday cards so that's why I was being ridiculous about making another one. I'm happy to make at least 1 more. LOL
Do we have to pay $10 for this? Or is it like Archiver's when there is nothing going on we can just set up and create without a fee? That would be ideal for me right now as I'm having to really cut my budget down after my lay off.

Yes, it's a $10 thing. Because they stay open late for us, and we're guaranteed a table etc. Hope we can still do it.....
What time do they normally close on Sunday? I wouldn't mind just going during the time they are open so we don't have to pay $10 if that is a possibility....

Ok, I just checked the website & they are open 11-5 on Sundays. Well, I know my mom wouldn't be able to make it if we have to pay & really I should be good and not either....I'm so sorry girls, I really was looking forward to it - I've just got to be really careful until I get another job! Let me know if anyone is still interested if we just do 11-5!

I don't think I can get myself together in time to swap on the 14th. My husband and I started remodeling our kitchen and we're going to be working on that this weekend.

Well, I'm excited b/c I can definately make it on Sunday -- My challenge will be right at the corner of University & County Line and it will be a yoga/pilates class so I can just come straight over after (it starts at 9a). Yay, I can't wait -- I haven't been able to get much stamping done AT ALL this past week. I've been so busy trying to find a job and working out -- that's basically my life right now!
So, I'm guessing with a lot of us not being able to make it those of us that are, will just bring our own projects to work on instead of the shoebox swap and we'll try for that next month? Sound good?

I'm also getting two boxes of apples. I will dehydrate some into apple chips and then I hope to make some apple butter.

LOL! Carisa you are too funny. I have no clue what I am doing and a friend of mine is going to teach me everything she knows We'll see how it goes. Last weekend we made peach jam and pear butter. They are both pretty yummy.

Absolutely! You could stop by tomorrow night - I should be home by 6p or anytime on Sat - I *hope* my hubby and I are going to go to Roxborough to hike but that will be in the morning as long as the weather is nice!
