Clean and Simple (CAS) Favorites for the Week Ending May 23, 2010
Welcome, one and all! This thread is an open celebration of the Clean and Simple Style of stamping. EVERYONE is invited to post links to his/her favorite CAS designs uploaded to the gallery this past week.
Clean and Simple is defined as minimal layering and embellishing...just enough stuff to get the point across. My feeling is you know CAS when you see it, so don't be shy about posting for fear of breaking any rules. Check out my favorites if you're confused...you'll see quite a range of CAS here!
I'll get us started with some of my favorites!
Kim66 posted a sweet and colorful bouquet of flowers
PaperInBloom posted a bunch of fabulous CAS cards this week, and this one using the Hero Arts cloud background is just a sample of all the goodness
kstamper combined challenges on her fun faux ribbon card
Vera's Best of luck card show how you can create a scene and keep it CAS, too
ltecler made a one-layer Thanks a Melon card that is fun and colorful and uses the perfect ribbon

Chinook's blue botanical sympathy cards are simply beautiful
ravengirl took shabby chic and married it with CAS beautifully
CAKath made a simply natural and beautiful card with a lovely ribbon and punch border
StephStamps1982 took a Bible verse and butterfly and made a stunning card
JulieHRR used swiss dot, ruffled ribbon, and an inspired color combo on her get well soon card
biggan made brown look awesome in her shabby chic blade of grass card...note the bling peeking out from behind the distressed matte, a stroke of genius!
al_silver2 nailed CAS shabby chic with her simple ruffled congrats card
kmahany shabbied her chic beautifully with a fab chandelier stamp and tulle accent flower
If you have some time today, please comment on some CAS cards. In SCS's huge gallery, CAS sometimes gets overlooked, and there is some amazing work going without comment. Let's fix that and give some encouragement!
I love this thread....thanks to Susan for starting it every week....very appreciated!!!
I had no time to make a card for the cas challenge this week....sniff!!...pout.....and I wasn't able to hit the gallery either. Will have to make up for it today....It is our long weekend here in Canada!!
I do have to say that this week's CAS challenge made it hard to choose CAS and shabby chic together. In my mind, it is hard to make something clean that is also shabby. So my definition of 'clean' this week got a little stretching! LOL! There were some absolutely amazing CAS shabby chic cards in the gallery!
Thank you, Susan, for mentioning my card! I'm giddy right now! Unfortunately, I had no time in the gallery this week, but love coming here to see everyone's favorites.
Thank you for the kind mention and notification! After my daughter's birthday party today, I will be back to check out all the lovely creations in the thread!
Quite a few of my favorites were already mentioned, but here are a few more wonderful cards that I really liked. Please take some time to visit them and make a lovely comment (you know how much you love comments!)
I am so inspired and learn so much by ALL of you who share your lovely creations. I really think that making a good CAS card is extreme talent! Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring me each week!

Susan, I am getting a late start today but wanted to send a big thank you for mentioning my card on this thread. It's always such a boost when that happens. I will be back to comment on the other fabulous cards.
Thanks so much, Diane, for mentioning my card here today! And to Karen too, for letting me know! It is a huge thrill, especially since today has not been *so hot* so far! ;) This'll cheer me up for SURE!

Wow! I am extremely honored to be mentioned as a CAS Favorite of The Week! Really, you have no idea how much that means to me (blush).
My friend Emily, aka ejkeaton, threw me a PM to let me know that I was mentioned. Thank you Emily, for the heads up!
I hope you all like the cards that were nominated. Again, thank you so very much!

susan, thanks so much for mentioning my snowflakes card! what a pick-me-up! i was out of town visiting my mother-in-law in hospital. thanks also to karen and ejkeaton for letting me know my card was in this thread.
Thanks for mentioning my happy little clouds, Susan. It may be a bit messy and frequently associated with complex crafting, but liquid applique can be perfect on a CAS card.

Aww, thank you Trish for the shout out and to Karen for letting me know - I didn't manage to drop by yesterday so this was a lovely start to the week, thanks!
