I loved using that glue also, but had a terrible time getting it off my stamps, so I quit doing that. I thought I would use Goo Gone to clean the stamps, until I read the directions & it says it will dissolve the rubber. Maybe I will check out this cleaner. I would love to do this technique again, also used it with foils.

LOL Cookie, yes, that is SOME sticky glue. I like your idea of using foils on stamped images, too

I just bought some of this glue at the Expo a couple of weeks ago and I'm using OMS (odorless mineral spirits) to remove the glue and then I clean with stamp cleaner. I've used OMS to remove stains on my rubber stamps NOT poly/clear stamps and have seen no ill effects.

I love this technique.

I think it was a Rubber Caf� technique using the foils. You stamp with their adhesive then I used their foils to put over the stamped image. They are so pretty. I also love their ultra fine glitters & that technique.

Thanks, stamphappy. I'm going to try the mineral spirits. I have a bunch of the foil & ultra fine glitter & I love the techniques. But not at the price of ruining my rubber stamps.

I was watching the Rubber Caf� video about stamping with their glue and they just cleaned the glue off of their stamp with soap and water and what looked like a fingernail brush. That seems the least invasive to me and I would expect 'safe' for the stamp regardless of rubber vs. clear stamp, so I will try that first.

In the case of wood-mounted stamps, they can always be reglued (I don't think this is an actual word LOL) to the wood mount if the rubber were to separate or come loose from the wood mount.

Try to wash your stamp immediately but if you can't then at least have a damp/wet sponge or pad of paper towels to set the stamp on so the glue stays wet until you do wash it. Even with putting it on something damp I wouldn't wait too long to clean it with some sort of cleaner.

Yikes!!!

I was just reading the insert in a CTMH stamp set that I bought and they say that using detergent or soap on their stamps can ruin them, so I will only be using soap/detergent on my rubber stamps.

Just wanted to share this info.

Agreed!! I've seen similar guidelines when stamping with gesso or acrylic paint.

In the Rubber Caf� video, she had a container with soapy water right next to her on her stamping table.

Of course, knowing me, I'd knock that over in no time flat and have soapy water everywhere LOL.........

I used to use the lil tub of water but the pad of wet towels is much less likely to make a mess and ruin what I'm making because I n e v e r have that problem, lol. Yeah right!!!
