Default Your Go To Older Stamp?

With all these amazing new stamps coming out all the time my question is do you have old stamps or stamp sets that you still find yourself going back to all the time?

Mine would have to be SU's Lovely as a Tree and some sentiment stamps from Unity when they first came out ,I cant remember the name of the set :(

I'm with you in choosing SU's Lovely as a Tree. That's definitely my go to stamp set when I'm needing immediate inspiration. I also love the old SU's Never Ending Joy. It's neat to me that some of the stamps or sets we invest in are used over and over and over! Now, that's a bargain!

I should preface this answer by saying that I don't own that many stamp sets - perhaps 15-20? I do own quite a few single stamps and I am heavy on sentiments stamps.

That being said, I have a couple of older sets that I go to frequently - Stampin' Up's Heartfelt Thanks and Garden Whimsy. I find that I can make almost anything with either of those sets.

I also agree with Lovely as a Tree which is why it's probably still in the catalog after all these years. I also love Frosty for winter cards and Wonderful Words (et. al. the long, cursive sentiment sets from SU)

The only time my older sets see ink is to make Christmas cards. I still use many retired SU! sets, often Christmas Foliage, and some single stamps I got maybe 12 years ago by Magenta and Hero Arts. I also love some background stamps by a long-gone company Embossing Arts, one has a section from Isaiah and one has all the names of the reindeer.

Lately I've pulled out several older SU snowmen and winter sets and have felt very inspired to make a lot of cards with them! I'm not sure if it's the stamps themselves or just the excitement of getting close to winter, but these sets seem to jump out at me every time I sit down to make a card now. (I should add that I'm in Kansas where we had the hottest summer on record this year, and I'm also 9 months pregnant...so maybe I'm just super-excited that it's finally cooled off here and I want to celebrate it with snow-stuff!!) I do find that many of my go-to stamps are SU sets that are 8-10 years old...maybe it's nostalgia about my early card-making days, or maybe I just did a better job back then of choosing sets I'd really love.

I use the sand and the birds from Shore Thing a LOT.
Tree for All Seasons gets a good amount of use too.
And - cracked record here - Lovely as a Tree.
I still use Wild About You quite a bit, too.

Stampin' Up's Wonderful Wings. I have used those butterflies to death and still love them.
