I realized a good reason to have (or not to have, as the case may be) your own picture as your avatar. I was at regionals and as I was walking by a table, someone said "You're from SCS. I recognize you from your picture." So, "Hi Julie 28!" I thought that was pretty cool. So, consider putting a pic of yourself as your avatar....unless you'd prefer people NOT recognize you.

Well obviously its of my children, but my photo is on my profile. I dont care if people "recognize" me. I think its kinda fun.
I will possibly change it soon. I like when people feature themselves cause then you can put a face with the name.
I change my avatar all the time. Sometimes it is me, sometimes it is of my kids or my pets. Right now it is of me and Noah, Spicygingersnap's son, and one of the sweetest boys you will ever meet. I got to meet Spicy, Noah and Spicy's daughter Jordan while I was down in Texas visiting DYU (Debi) and her family for Mardi Gras. Noah and I just clicked at the restaurant. We colored together!! So this avatar makes me happy because it reminds me of how much fun I had meeting some of my SCS family.
My avatar is me on the left and Rachel (rfain) (dyu's daughter) on the right. Rachel and I are like sisters and I love her to death. The pic was at Mardi Gras in Feb. of this year. Holy best time of my life Batman!!!
I haven't figured out how to get the picture small enough to post along with my thread comments. I do have a picture of me on my profile page. It was taken by my DH when we were at Kona Village on the Big Island of Hawaii for my 50th birthday. I think it is nice to attach a face to a name.
It was mentioned in a post when I first started visiting SCS that someone knew how to make the pictures the right size to be accepted...but I was new and didn't want to bother them.
I just need to get my DH to work on it for me. Speaking of my DH, he had a similar experience of being recognized from his pictures posted on his website. He is an avid high altitude mountain climber and was on an expedition to climb the highest mountain in South America. He was standing on the summit of Aconcagua (22,841') when a member of another expedition approached him and said 'You're Alan Arnette...I recognized you from your pictures on your climbing website.'
Our electronic age has indeed made this a small world. It, fortunately, allows us to hang out together at SCS.
No. Right now it is my cat hanging out in the trash can. (She's very mischievious... But I don't have any pictures of me that I like so I don't usually put my picture up......I'm too self-conscious!

I'll email you one;)
Mine is if me on the left (your left) and my sis on the right
Nope, because there are no current pictures of me. I take the pictures in the family. The only way to get a picture of me would to take it of myself and those are kind of funny looking. For awhile I had an old picture of me as my avatar, but I grew my hair out for the first time in about 30 yrs. I no longer look anything like the picture so I took it off.

A slightly older picture of myself and my adorable red-headed nephew Austin. I happen to love this photo of me with long hair (it is about 3 years old cause he is 6 now!) simply because it was still wet and looked shiny and dark... no gray/silver showing! LOL!!!!
Mine is Pippi Longstocking right now. If you happen to see her say Hi! but you might want to do it in Swedish since that's where she's from. (hee-hee!)
Yes, my avatar is me! I was at a stamp camp at my upline's a few weeks ago and one of the other stampers recognized me from SCS (Hi, LaDonna!). I got a kick out of it.
Yep that's me...but it's an old pic. Probably bout five years old. Gotta get an updated pic.
I was in Maine apple picking with my niece and family. One of the best times of my life.
My avatar is a self-portrait done a decade ago. I've got updated glasses now, and my hair is a lot shorter now (I got my head shaved a month ago [beFORE Britney Spears did it!]).
it's me & my hubby when we renewed our vows 5 years ago. it's such a great memory I can't/won't change it! besides you can't see any fat or winkles on this pic!!!!
Yup, me and the DH at Jellybean74's Wedding - I was the maid of honor and my hubby was a grooms man! She had her Photographer take some special pictures of just us!!! - Ain't she a sweetie!!!
