I am just trying to see if there is anyone else out there like me ... ... LOL ... I was stamping a whole bunch of stuff the other day and I noticed how once I was done with one project I put everything away before I started a new one. Even if I needed to use something for the next project I put it away ... Now, on the other hand I am always covered in ink, glitter or glue ... lol ... So tell me ... are you a tidy or messy stamper???

I'm messy! It looks like a tornado went through my room. I have bits and pieces of projects and mistakes all over the table (on the one end) and sewing machine/material/quilting supplies scattered all over the other side of the table. I usually leave the room with glitter on myself or ink...or something. ;)

I am tidy to the annoyance factor! I only work on one project at a time, put everything away, then start over. I am also impatient though, so even though I am working on only one project, I have trouble waiting long enough for the ink to dry before starting with the color pencils and will many times smear the whole sheet. I have to make myself put it in the other room for an hours before I start on it so I dont mess it all up.
can i be both tidy AND a disaster??? i get messier and messier as i work, to the point that i can't even think straight. . ..and then i clean clean clean!!!! (and then start all over again!)
well, I am not messy stamper as in ink all over me, but I have a hard time putting things away. My DH is always upset with me, I have a mess on the dining room table right now, and we try to eat there!:( gin
by the way, does anyone out there know a use for those pieces of strapping you get bundles of boxes (at work) wrapped in? these are about 1/2 inch wide, and I can get plenty of them each month, but hate to throw them away. the current ones are a white, almost clear color - can be used like ribbon maybe??? Gin

I have to bring my stuff in from the garage every time I stamp so I am always doing more than one project. When I am working my living room table is a mess, not a disaster. I have to keep all my stuff in a reasonable order so my living room does not have stuff spread all about. When I am done I put everything back in its place nice and tidy.
I tend to work myself into a 12 x 12 space--and my work table is actually 60" x 24"! And that ends in an 'L' that has my computer in the corner, and then my Cricut, printers, etc.
But I do put things away between projects, and start with a clean space--even if I'm going to pull some of it out right away again. If I start with a junky space, I don't get anything done but cleaning it up.

I am an "in-betweener". My table gets messy but I clean up, and put everything away before I start a new project. Messes drive me nuts, and I feel like it puts a damper on my "creative mojo". lol

I once used the ribbon you cut off the shoulders of a new dress on a card! Looked great and no one was the wiser

I am a bit OCD when it comes to tidiness anywhere in my life! I have a crawling baby and a 3 1/2 year old and keeping "clean" with them around is very hard. But I do at least have control over my stamping area so for the most part....most of the time it is very clean and tidy.

I am a messy stamper....my table looks like Edward Scissorhands came for a visit. I am very likely to ditch one card before it's done and start working on another idea that comes to me. I eventually clean it all up, I do hate to clean stamps though! I don't think there's a right or wrong way to stamp, whatever works for you is great!

12x12, huh? That big? I usually work myself down to something smaller than that! I like to have everything within reach, and since I work on my Dining Room table, well, it all eventually ends up there. I give classes once a month, though, so I have to do a clean sweep so all the ladies have somewhere to work; then it starts all over again.
I usually clean up between projects, but I am ALWAYS covered in ink. I look like I finger paint when I stamp. I get so mad when I smudge paper with my inky fingers.
But, when I am done with a final project, I do not like to totally clean up. After I've been sitting and working for awhile, I don't want to spend more time cleaning...although I NEVER leave my inks or stamps out. Just my paper. And all of the little scraps and bits that I cut.
I'm completely messy. My work desk is a mess and my crafting area is a mess. I do try to clean it up when it gets to the point that I can't take it anymore but I do my best work in a tiny area surrounded by piles of things I might need.
Here you go--I just took a picture of my space in my office at work. I have an L shaped desk but even if I do turn to my left, there are piles there, too :-)

I am a messy messy stamper and scrapper. The only thing that saves me is I can only work on my projects in the kitchen so I have to clean up every time I'm done. Otherwise I'm pretty sure my stampin and scrappin room would be a big mess...
I am an Inbetweener...I create and pile, create and pile until my workspace is cramped, then I have to put stuff away. I just can't stop to tidy up when the creative juices are flowing, but this does create the interesting phenomenon of losing little things under stacks of dp...
I am like you Kelly. Once a project is finished,I put everything up and start the next one( even if I will be using some of the same things). What does that say about us??? LOL
I start out clean because I have to use the dining room table. So I haul all my stuff out, make a huge mess, then put it all away (most days - maybe the next day if its a big project) and start over for the next project.
Completely a messy stamper. My table looks terrible and I am about at the point where I must put stuff away because I am starting to lose stuff!
I have a table where I work and am down to a about a half a size of grid paper (that is visible) to actually stamp, everything is piled around it. It looks awful, but actually I stamp better this way! So it works for me
I am pretty neat about everything but my stamping space, which is strange.
I have a tendency to be a little **** when it comes to that. I usually clean and organize before I start. As I use things I will put them back. I have to make sure I have a specific place for everthing because I will move it then spend forever looking for stuff.
I said 'in between' but if you looked right now you would have to say VERY messy! I just 'lost' my desk to my daughter - it really IS her desk and she is going to take it back to school next month! So, I have to find new homes for all the stuff that was in all the cubby holes and on the hutch... I'll be back in order soon!
MESSY!! However, my crafty space is in my bedroom and I cannot stand going to sleep with a mess (or with the closet door open- is that weird?), so I always clean it up at night

My space is very messy...stacks everywhere....but while I create, I'm very neat in that area. I pull out everything I need and put it away as soon as I'm done. I clean my stamps as soon as I use them. This often works against me as I then decide to use them again to decorate the back of the card...clean them...and then stamp the envelope! So I guess I'm really both!
I am neat and tidy all the way...sometimes to a fault because I often put something away that I need for my next card! I find that I even tidy up my friend's space when we are stamping together! Luckily she doesn't mind...at least I don't think she does!
I am messy, but I'm working on becoming a tidy girl. I'm in the process of redoing my stamping space, so now that I have more storage, I am hoping to stay clean. (I promised my DH that if he let me spend $ to redo it, stuff wouldn't be all over the place!) So far I'm doing okay. I try to clean up a little after each card, or at least at the end of a stamping session.
I keep my area clean, I decided what I am going to do and take out what I need before I start and put it away as soon as I am done with it. I am compulsive about makeing sure that my stamps are cleaned each time I use them and they have to be put away as soon as I am done with them. If I am doing several projects the only things that I leave out is the cutter and the stamp scrubber. Stamps that I have that I know I would like to color, I stamp several times on sheets of paper, this way when I want to color them I already have them stamped and the ink is dry so I don't have to worry about waiting time. Some days that is all I do is stamp and color this way if I am in a hurry I just grab something I have already done that goes with what I am making.
It can get pretty messy when I am having a creative burst, but I don't need to have every thing put away before I start another project. HOWEVER, I almost always tidy up at the end of each day so that I can start the NEXT day totally calm and fresh. My mojo can't get going if I'm wading through yesterday's mess, so I clean, but usually only at the end of the day. That qualifies me as an in-betweener, I guess.
total train wreck here!!! I wish in some ways that I could be a bit more organized and tidy as I generally spend way too much time looking for the thing "I just had". But in the same breath, i feel that cleaning all the time takes away from my time (which is so limited to start with) to create and work. I generally spend one day a month cleaning up the area and let the scraps fall where they may.
