White gel pen?

Is there a secret to getting white gel pens to work when they won't? I don't use mine very often and have gone through several because they won't work. I would appreciate some suggestions. TY

I will scribble on my hand to get it flowing again. No idea where I saw that tip, but it usually works for me.

After collecting a drawer full, I gave up on white gel pens. Instead, I now use the DecoColor extra fine point paint pen or the SU chalk marker where I would have previously tried to use a white gel pen. My DecoColor is over 2 years old and I have had the SU marker for over a year. They are both still going strong. I do lightly wipe the area around the tips before putting them away.

I posted this in the thread mentioned in post #2, but I re-posted it here:

A few weeks ago, my white Gelly Roll gel pen stopped working. I really like this pen, and it was 3/4 of the way full of ink, so I thought I would try to get it going again. I pulled off the tip with a pair of needle-nose pliers. (I suggest doing this slowly over a paper towel or rag.) Then I pulled out a wad of "gunk" that was inside the tip. It was like dried-up glue - presumably the gel. I pushed the tip back on the pen and tried it. It now works better than it did when I first bought it!

So, before you throw away your next clogged gel pen, give this a try. I hope it works for you too.

(I've done this with 2 other pens since my original post, and they are all working very well now.)

I too have found that if it stops flowing well i just draw on my finger tip a bit and the ink starts flowing again.

I hear ya!! After spending my child's inheritance on gel pens I found an alternative that seems to work...at least for me. I use a white pen from Clover. It is used to mark fabric and is usually available at fabric stores. It goes on clear and drys white and even works on chalk board tape from 3M. I have had it for at least a year and don't use it often but when I do...it works. Hope this helps.
