I am making Sweet 16 b'day invitations for my niece. She hated all the fonts I had on my computer LOL. I'm using Stampin' Up!'s 'Doodle This' stamp set and she wants a curly font that looks delicate and girly (but not too fancy).
Do any of you download free fonts? If so ... what are some good sites, easy to download, etc ????
Thanks in advance,
simmy

dafont.com has a newer one called "The King and Queen" That may look cute. I say may because how it looks on the screen is not always how it translates in your project.
I went to dafont.com and downloaded three fonts to my desktop. Then I dragged each one to the Fonts folder in my Control Panel, but it says they are all corrupted or damaged. What am I doing wrong?

I open the font folder (open control panel, then open font folder) and then there's an option that says add a font. You have to unzip the folder first, but it worked beautifully for me!

I am so technically challenged LOL. I went to dafont.com ... clicked "download" on the font I wanted, saved it to my c://windows/fonts ... but it doesn't show up there for some reason.
HELP!!

Yaayyyy, I figured it out !!!! Now to type up a sample invitation for my niece to "approve" LOL.
For those that go to dafonts.com ... she picked CAC Pinafore. It's so cute and will be perfect!
Thanks everyone.

What I do is save the file to my desktop, unzip the file, open the folder, then drag the actual font file to c:windows\fonts. Then I delete the rest of the zip file and folder from my desktop.

Thanks Areume! I tinkered with it... my problem was that I didn't know how to unzip them. So I googled it and found out how... So now I am enjoying the new fonts!
Thank you so much everybody!!!! It took me awhile to figure it out, but I now know how to download free fonts!! I'm in love!! I'm so glad I checked this forum topic to help me find free fonts!!
Thanks again,
Melody

I love free fonts, but I actually don't mind paying a couple bucks for really nice ones. I LOVE FONTS! Dingbat fonts are GREAT for using like little stamps. 2 Peas has some great ones. I've gotten a bunch of great fonts at 2 Peas, and Lettering Delights (www.letteringdelights.com). Sometimes you can get pretty good deals on bundles.
Anyway, I compiled the list of all the FREE font sites that were posted to this thread so far:
My husband, (professional computer geek), always lectures me to be careful not to download TOO many fonts, it bogs down your system. Which is true...one time, after I had loaded several greeting card, scrapbooking, and general font softwares, I had to do a major purge, cause I ended up with something like 1200 fonts on my hard drive!
