I am by nature a very nosy person. And some of you have screen names that really pique my curiosity. So my question to you is, why did you choose your screen name? Does is have a special meaning?
I'll begin the dialogue. My screen name, artlikefastfood, came to me rather quickly. I am a visual artist, as well as an art historian, so I love art. However, in having 4 kids and a very busy lifestlye, I didn't have time to pursue my hobby. At least until I discovered stamping. It's my way of creating, in a fast-food, drive-through kind of way. I can stamp a card much faster than I could paint a picture, which really works for me right now in my life. Hence the name, artlikefastfood.
my name is Cathy (with a c) and I'm a stamper!!! Plus all the other names I wanted at the time were taken!!
My first sentence here sounds like I should be at some sort of stampers anonymous meeting!!!
I love purple. For over 25 years I've gone shopping for treasures on 12/26. Because I'm Jewish people say what do you buy? My answer: it depends on what I need but mostly it is a treasure hunt. What is cheap and can I use it(usually for some unintended purpose-like purple Christmas balls that fill a glass bowl.) Well one year I bought a gorgeous purple elf doll that sits in my living room. Over the years my 15 yr. old daughter has jokingly referred to me as a "purple elf lady".
When I started stamping, I had three small children. . . let's see, they were 5, 4, and 2. I had them all in 3 years and 2 weeks! If I wanted to get any stamping done at all, I had to be very speedy about it, hence the name Speedystamper.
"Toy" is a nickname that goes way back . I was a premmie and that's what my dad thought i was.. actually had to buy doll clothes to fit me. The name no longer fits as I'm not small anymore! LOL.. but it's better than what my granny calls me.. "Hollyhocks".
I'm constantly correcting my sons when they say "Me likes" or some other variant of the misused pronoun... so to be sarcastic, I always say "me stamps".... ;)
I am a close to my heart consultant and I just added girl since I am one. Not very exciting. I try to use the same name on all the boards so I don't forget what my sign in name is.
Rubbernecker - because everything on this site "turns my head". Also because I'm something of a groupie for the stamping royalty on this site and rubbernecker seemed like a good name for their following - kind of like Jimmy Buffet's parrotheads.
I found this site in the Fall of 2003 when Splitcoast wasn't known like it is now (my member number is 1365), so I had the luxury of using my first name. Although I must say there aren't too many Yvettes out there either (I never could find anything with my name on it growing up). Thanks, Mom, for naming me after a French actress! ;)

Mine is boring 'cause it's just my first name. When I signed up with Split Coast way back when I was pretty new to the whole *forum* thing and didn't really realize that it was going to show up like it does . . . oh well. Live and learn!
Mine is a nickname given to me because I am very petite (barely 5', 102 lbs). I have always worked with a majority of men, most of my closest friends came from this group and I am very active in sports, so they called me "LilBit" My family does not even know of this nickname (I am sure my brothers could find a much more derogatory name for me HA HA!!)
I had a myriad of nicknames through school. Anyone named Lisa will be able to relate I am sure! A friend used to call me Mona Lisa and then just Mona. Kinda always stuck with me.
Now it's my business and blog name - Mona Lisa Moments. I try to create moments of inspiration for myself and others.
These threads come up from time to time. I just love reading the responses!
Mine is because I am a big hockey fan and Trevor Linden is my favorite player (Vancouver Canucks)... I joke that I am the world's oldest Trevor Linden stalker... I mean fan...
Mine is a nickname we have for my cat, Katie. She won't play with any of the toys we buy her, but she'll spend hours chasing shadows - even her own! We're her 3rd owners and didn't get the chance to name her. The name Katie doesn't seem sophisticated enough for her - she's a pretty cool cat! So we often call her Shadowcatcher. She doesn't come to anything we call her, so it might as well be a name we like, right?

Mine is because people from Indiana are called "hoosiers" and the mascot for Indiana University (where I graduated from and now work) are the Hoosiers. The stamper part is obvious. LOL!

I should have added that the better question is "What is a 'hoosier'?" That's still up in the air. The most common story is that it came from someone asking "who's here?" all slurred together. Not all that interesting, in reality.
Mine is because I am a Purdue grad, and their mascot is a Boilermaker...add that to the craft I enjoy, and wah-lah! I would also usually insert a barb against Indiana here, but since our basketball boys were soundly beaten by the Hoosiers this week, I will play nice!

Mine is the name that my family has called me since I was born. I always ask my mom "Why didn't you just call me Patti Lynn?" She always replies, "I didn't know you could do that". Oh well!
