Holy moly! Did anyone happen to see how much some of Dave's dies sold for on EBay?! Sure makes me appreciate the dies I have. I think I'm down to only 3 sets that I don't have that I want.

I never even thought to look on eBay for his dies....now I will, just to rationalize the $$$ I've spent buying his dies directly from him! ;)
I noticed that the SU stamp sets and to coordinating Dies by Dave are REALLY expensive!!!. The email address that I use for him is Dies by Davemyshopify.com. Is that the one you are using Hookedoncrafts?

I really hope people will not by from these rip off people on ebay. Theses prices are totally uncalled for. Now this is just my opinion, but if you can't buy from Dave directly, its not worth those outrageous prices on ebay, I would rather go without, or pick out another die and stamp set or go buy some glittery eye makeup or new bra's!
Then again what is important to one person may not be important to another. But if someone wants to spend $128 for a die set off ebay, go for it, it's not money out of my pocket, it's their money.

To the best of my knowledge...Dave cannot use the SU Name, so he makes up a name for the die. A buyer needs to be familiar with the looks of the SU product they are looking for. For example the goose die we know it goes with Wetlands The pictures (Not an image of dies) is something new and I think they are dies that do not match any SU stamp set but are just dies that Dave is selling. If anyone out there knows more about these "pictures" of dies please let us know.

There is a list on post #3. Any specific set you are looking for just ask, someone on this thread is sure to answer.:p
Leslie, I agree. It makes me sad that people would gouge other people like that.
For the record, if anyone here is that desperate for any of Dave's Dies for some reason, and I have that die, I will loan mine to you so you don't pay an arm and a leg. Just PM me.

Nope, Nope, Nope I just won't!!!

Any of you that ordered when the store opened last month get their order yet? It's been a month since I placed my order. I did email him but have not yet received a reply.
I ordered on March 2nd and haven't received a shipping notice, but it does say when you order that shipping could be 18 to 21 days after you order. So, I'm not concerned.

It's been 28 days since I placed my order. Hopefully I will get answer to my email today or the die.
Hello Ladies,
I'm like many of you folks and just learning of Dave's Dies. I did send him an email asking about the rose dies which go with Stippled Blossoms. Can someone help me understand how he does business? It sounds like he's open for a few hours then closed. I would like to purchase many dies but confused on how to go about it. Or even if he will still be selling based on the lawsuit stuff. Any help would be amazing. Stephanie.

I've ordered from him several times. Generally there will be something posted if it'll be a long delay from the time you order till the time you get your dies.
His store is sporadic so I just save the site and check back every once in a while. If it's open, I browse through and immediately place an order if there's something I really want -- if you see it, don't wait! sometimes items sell out in hours.
The only times I've emailed are when I wanted to check up on my order, so I don't know about your question email.
I can say that I really like his dies. They have a smaller border/space around the stamped image -- I mean to say they cut closer to the stamped image, leaving less white space around it.
Excited to hear about the dies for stippled blossoms. I rushed to his site, but there is not a lot available of his other dies on there right now. It is only showing one page of dies. I did notice the stems of leaves, though. I think that is new? Anyone have an idea if they correspond to some SU set?

I bought this exact set of Stems of leaves on EBay through a vendor in China, so I can't believe that it corresponds to any SU stamp set. As an aside, I recall paying under $3 for the set, free ship.
I recognize several other dies left in Dave's store as being ones I've bought or seen listed by China vendors on EBay. I bought the rectangular winter scene with the deer for maybe $3?, and it wasn't long after that I saw it on Dave's site for sale. Same with the little boy and girl holding hands (this is s darling die, the figures are quite large.)
So am I understanding correctly, that it seems like Dave is buying the dies you mentioned from China and then selling them on his site?
Thanks
Shirl
Only some of the dies, not those that he has customized to SU sets. I think he might carry these non-custom dies as a way to keep something in stock in his store so that people don't find it closed when they check (just look back on this thread to get a feel for how unhappy/perplexed customers are when a web page says "closed"!). He may also carry those odd-ball dies to be able to show that he sells dies other than those that might be deemed SU related. Just my speculation on why he has these other dies on his site, it could be for a totally different reason! I was not trying to put him down for carrying the dies, I was only making the case that they were not his proprietary dies.
