This is a spin off of the "what stamps do you have a ridiculous amount of" thread. Just curious what stamps you seem to be missing from your collection. For me...I'm short on sympathy stamps. And I find myself needing more and more of them as my parents are getting older and so are their friends and relatives. Sort of depressing, but I think sympathy cards are important and need to be sent in a timely manner and I have too few stamps that are my "go to" stamps for this occasion.
I seem to be short of Birthday stamps. I make so many birthday cards I feel like I am using the same stamps over and over. I can't seem to find a nice birthday set I like. I either don't like all the stamps in the set or I don't like the sentiment stamps included in the set. I am very picky on the style in which sentiments are written and not necessarily the sentiment its self.
Sympathy sets I don't have. I just can't make a sympathy card. I buy those cards.

I'll agree with you Leslie...I'm short of birthday greeting stamps. I think every birthday card I've sent in the past three years has the same inside message. LOL
special greetings, especially sympathy and themed greetings, like something to go with clouds. I wish there were more digital sentiments that weren't too costly. Stamp companies that sell sets, can come up greetings; but, often you are paying for a set that you already have a sentiment like it, or even two and only one of the sentiments make the set worthy. In other words; let's see more individual sentiments.

Birthday greetings. Like Sonya, I feel as if I've been using the same set for a LONG time...but I just saw that SNSS have a new one out!
And interesting, inspirational sentiments in general. I used not to like using them much, but I think I use them more and more on my cards these days. There aren't many other gaps in my collection at all.
Over the years I've accumulated a lot of image stamps that I like and use over and over. They don't really look the same on cards because I change up the colors and the design of the card.
Not so with sentiments. I was always buying different sets, using them a little bit, and thinking I needed more.
Now I nearly always type out the sentiment on my computer and print it in a pleasing font, especially for the inside. I still use my generic "Happy Birthday", "Thinking of You", "Deepest Sympathy", etc. stamps for the front, but nearly always can find an appropriate sentiment to type out for the inside that I usually like better than the sentiment stamps I have.

Definitely sympathy - and sentiment stamps in general. I have things like "Happy Birthday" or "Get Well", but sentiments that are verses or a line or two instead of just a short phrase are hard to come by in sets that I like. I guess I'll second Carolyn's suggestion for individual sentiment stamps.
Sentiments. I always have a huge issue with what to put in the inside of cards. When I didn't put a poem/saying in a card my mother makes a huge production that the card is lacking.

I seem to be lacking sentiment stamps. Birthday, sympathy, get well, etc. I just can't find the right ones. I tend to use the ones I do like over and over. I need to find some new ones.
Anniversary, engagement, and graduation. I know you can use "congratulations" in most cases, but I would like to have more specific sentiments for those events.

I would agree with sympathy images and sentiments. I have a lot of floral stamps, but most of those seem too "cheerful" in style to be utilized for a sympathy card. I probably need to search the galleries for sympathy cards to see what images folks are using - maybe I'm not thinking outside the box enough.
I seemed to have collected a lot of GREAT sentiments from the stamp company "SP&Company" over time, and I'm so glad I did, but it's definitely interior greetings that I'm lacking. And yes, the computer and a printer is an option, I am surprised more stamp companies haven't jumped on the inside/outside coordinating greeting bandwagon. There's a huge gap.
I'm always on the look out for inside sentiments and sentiments that are different than the usual. I want inside sentiments that are only two or three lines because when I see a paragraph inside a card my eyes glaze over! Somehow more than two lines is too much to read!
I seem to have alot of sentiment sets but often don't have one in quite the right size for the front of my cards which I find very frustrating! I do need to get some more Sympathy sentiments as I use the same ones over and over. I would like to get a Pet Sympathy set (if there is such a thing?).
Can't you just use the computer and printer for any sentiment in any font you like? :?
Certainly, and I used to do that more, and still do, sometimes. But these days I often want something I can stamp directly onto my main panel after I've used various techniques to create it.
I'm another who types my sentiment/verse on the pc and prints the insert. A bit of a Google search yielded hundreds of sites with suitable sentiments, especially for the Sympathy cards, be it for friends/relatives/pets etc. The few stamps I have ever seen with card verse are always way too cutesy for me, or don't really fit my relationship with the person.
I'm shy on the sympathy sentiments too. I have some just not a big variety. Amazingly, I think I'm well balanced with that exception of the sympathy. I don't have a huge amount of stamps like most people on SCS. I get by with what I have, I enjoy so many crafts that I have to evenly distribute the tools and supplies.
I have to say masculine and sympathy is what I'm shy of. Excess is Christmas. I can never say no to them. Otherwise I have a good balance and rotate the use quite a bit.
I don't have enough "non-major" holidays such as 4th of July, Halloween, Mother's Day and Father's Day. I also don't have enough funky, funny greetings but I do grab them now when I see them.

Our Daily Bread has a nice set of pet sympathy stamps.
I love searching for sayings, I never have enough birthdays, and I just love funny verses. Some of my favorite companies to get them from are Verses, Impression Obcession, Serendipity These companies have such nice fonts and well made. If you want to sit for ages with a cup of coffee and laugh yourself silly, check out Viva Las Vegas Stamps
I also use a computer a lot; especially for sympathy and personalize it.
I save them on USB stick, by folder occasion; and print out for a binder to view. I really need to add the font size when I do a die cut fit; but, haven't gotten that accomplished; or what font size to use within a punch. It still isn't as fast or convenient as a stamp; but, then I have to find that stamp first. Is it ever simple enough???

^^ Ditto all that. I have 80 billion stamps and not enough of these!
I made all of the cards for the Sunshine Club at work so I have a good collection of get well and sympathy.
What I'm lacking, mostly because it doesn't exist, is funny birthday sentiments. My family likes humor! And most birthday sentiments are serious. Ugh. I have a bunch from Hambo and various other companies, but it's never enough.

The Cat's Pajamas has THIS SET, and Close to My Heart has THIS SET that are kind of fun. The CTMH one is retiring (I think the end of the month) so if you want it, now is when to get it...

You rock! I'm already at my budget for the month but I'm ordering that CTMH set right now. The other one is on my wish list.
I've found other funny birthday stamps from CAS-ual Fridays, SU (like Bombs Away!), and single stamps from TooMuchFun and Repeat Impressions. But I never seem to have enough.

What stamps am I lacking? I am lacking every stamp I see here on the forum and elsewhere that I like and immediately want. I see a stamp that I want and then I experience a gaping hole in my collection where that stamp ought to be. ;-)!

Yes I do this too. But sometimes it is just quicker to stamp a sentiment.
