What do you all do on the insides of your cards? I have left some blank but some I have gone to my publishing program that makes quarter fold cards and put the same sentiment in each side that way when it prints I get four verses on one page. I cut this out and glue then to the inside. Sometimes I stamp around them with matching stamps. My Printmaster has a bunch of verses to pick from but some of them are corny. Does anyone have a resource for verses that you use? I would love to hear any ideas.
Thanks,
Michele
Michele: I use this site often for phrases....

scroll down to the bottom, find links for various occassions.
Check spelling often with these phrases, sometimes there are errors.

My favorite place to get nice sentiments for cards is from catalogs that I get in the mail - Current catalog is the best. It shows the entire saying for the card; they have cards for all occasions so it is a real "mother lode" of card sentiments. Some of the Victorian catalogs also sell packages of cards and they will state the sentiment that is in the card. Another good source is the Dollar Store. You can pick up a couple of cards with really nice, wordy sentiments, borrow the parts and pieces that work in the cards you like to make and then either send the card to someone or cut up the card front and make another card or two with the left overs!
I use a card program, too, but I don't use the phrases they contain. I agree that most of them are pretty awful. I like to come up with my own sayings or alter others so that they tie into the image on the front of the card. I'm fond of puns, and the people who buy my cards or receive them from me seem to enjoy them, too. I've included some of the phrases and quotes I've used in the description of my card examples.
Here's another website that I don't think has been mentioned above: www.versalog.com
I also bought a book of quotes from the half-priced bookstore that has come in handy many times.
And I found the Bible on CD, so if I want to include a Bible verse, I can do a search for a particular subject (marriage, anniversary, birth). This is probably my favorite!
I often use Elegant Greetings on the inside of my cards. I'll also use a different version of the stamp I use on the front- if the front says Happy Birthday, then I'll use Birthdays are good for you, the more you have, the older you get from Quick and Cute.
I have just recently purchased one of the new Corner Adorner Card Creator punches which allows you to punch a "folded" card and then insert any printed text (on paper or vellum) into the card. This is great! I can create cards in advance, and then depending on the occasion, person, or greeting, I can personalize the insert and add it in. A wonderful product.
Hi again, I thought I would let you know where I got the Corner Adorner Card Creator punch (there are 6 of them) from. http://www.discountscrapbooksupplies...age/714419.htm
They are an EK Success product and I am so pleased with mine. I bought the trumpet flower. It is especially great for cards that I have made on a dark cardstock. I don't have the fanciest of handwriting, and am always more nervous about ruining a card with a gel pen. This has been solved because I can now directly print with fancy type any of my messages and just insert them into the prepunched card.
