I forgot, I have used pennies as the treasure for a pirate card. Little boys just love it and Euro pennies look foreign and exciting to those here in North America.
What the heck is ***** all about???? I didn't mean to show the piano legs!! LOL
Oh no! You're not suppose to say "leg" Victorians called them "stumps". Sometimes the censor rules are a little bit of over kill, but I get why they have them. At least we know what you were trying to say. ;)
Have only read through one page of these ideas and have use every one so far. One I didn't see yet is to use the plastic netting that comes with food inside--onions, turkeys, potatoes, etc. Works great for bee hives ( yellow), sexy lace (the black and red stuff), fish net (white), grass (green)---you get the idea. Have some orange and purple I plan to use for halloween. Attached are a few I could find quickly.

Thanks for the pictures. Your uncommon items look terrific

I used a couple of matches. The cartoon snake image looked like he was smoking, imo. I used the sentiment, you light up my life. I'm looking for the picture, but it might be one I lost when my computer got a virus.

My former MIL gave me a used Ace bandage and said, "I saved this and thought you could use with your card-making." (she was dead serious). Ok, ladies. I'm creative, but I'm fresh out of ideas how to incorporate a used Ace bandage on a card!! Lol!!

Some time back I saw some weird things in a PaperCraft Magazine suggesting things to put on cards. Frankly I was quite put off after paying $15 for the magazine to find they showed cards with the following glued onto a card.
Toothpicks (really?) bottlecaps and actual batteries, altho I don't recall how they glued these on. I could not help wondering what the recipient would think when receiving something that looked like that. Toothpicks from a kindergarden class given by your grandchild is one thing, but this was in a magazine which was supposed to promote creative ideas for adults.
Some of the posts here I enjoyed reading about for the right recipient and perhaps no worries about mailing a bulky item.
These were also submitted by some very recognizable people in this field, tha'ts what surprised me the most, when this was far removed from their usual creative ideas.Anyway since then I look through that magazine before purchasing it, where in the past I would grab it off the shelf and run to the register. With the cost of magazines I have learned to be more selective.Sorry for the rant....but I do feel better ;)

Emboss over it. I often use odd things for embossing-- burlap, shelf liner, lace, etc. sandwich, from the bottom up, cuttlebug: a, b, burlap, cs, rubber sheet, shim, b.
