That is part of my reason for not buying much of their stuff Demos come and go and trying to find a new one is crazy I have gone to the site emailed, called people in my area with no response. So I just gave up. There are a lot of other companies to buy from that make it so much more "buyer friendly".
You can't order directly from SU, but you can have ANY demo (even if she's across the country from you) order for you and have it shipped directly to you.
I will say to OP, congrats. It's just that BEFORE I was a demo I did this and I've had trouble with some of the stamps and there was nothing I could do. Now that I'm a demo, I regret doing it. So again, congrats.
Enjoy your stamp set. There's no reason not to. If you choose to do business elsewhere it's because the company or demo did not earn your loyalty. SU's shipping is becoming a big issue for me - it adds such a huge chunk to my order whoch means less product I can order. I rarely pay shipping with the other companies I purchase from and, if I do pay shipping, it's never at the higher rate that SU charges. Just food for thought.
Glad you got a good deal, i am not seeing Voila in the large catalog, i have bought tons of things off e-bay and never had a problem. Glad for you!!!!

I love Ebay! And every time I sign on I wave hello to my money! I'm glad the OP got the deal she wanted and I hope she enjoys her purchase!
I also love my Demo, she's a good friend and I enjoy placing orders with her.
That said, I have had my share of problems with previous Demos. I placed an order with one Demo of over 150.00. She never filed my order and since my order was from a mini some of the sets I wanted were no longer available. Off to EBay I went. Friends of mine ordered from another demo, and sent her checks for their order. She never cashed the checks and stopped answering their calls. She also finally quit being a demo. Problems do exist denying them doesn't help.
In all the years I have bought sets from SU, I've never had a problem with the stamps. I also don't think telling people they should buy from SU because there might be a problem with the stamps is a great endorsement of the product demos are selling.

I'm just curious as to why a 4 year old thread got resurrected???
And as a side note, you CAN order directly from SU although you pay higher prices and shipping. And you can order directly from ANY demo that has a website hassle free to get a break on price and shipping...people order randomly from me from time to time and the only hassle they get is a thank you email and a thank you card....so not all (probably not most) SU demos are pushy:-)
LOL, lol. I am laughing at myself because I have done the same exact thing. I have been randomly reading threads and for some reason an old thread will come up and I'll make a comment and then realize that the thread was started 5 years ago and feel like an idiot.
I love the Viola Chef, he is so cute.
P.S. I don't think it would hurt to delete most threads after two years. If it's an important topic it will be asked/addressed again.

I must be really dumb, 'cause I don't get this at all. Can you explain? Thanks.
I'm in PA and it takes about a week and a half for SU to arrive at my door. If I want something really badly, and I don't want to wait that long, I check Ebay, or the BST forums first. Maybe if SU offered USPS shipping option so we could use Priority Mail, I wouldn't have to look elsewhere.
And BTW, if you purchase something off Ebay and use Paypal to pay for it, if anything is wrong with the purchase, you can get your money back using PP's dispute resolution process.

Probably would make more sense if you were familiar with the Short story it comes from. Basically one character was rescued from a fatal situation by someone unexpected to extend her any good will, hence the irony of the situation.

So glad that you are not pushy. I have a friend that sells for a stamp company, and she is not pushy at all.
Yeesh, after I read some of the other posts, I remembered why I hate going to some of the parties. I do realize that these companies really pressure people to sell, and it may be hard to not take it personal when you hear someone bought something elsewhere, but good grief!
I have bought from etsy and ebay in the past also. Although, noone is making $ off of me now cause I'm on a spending diet.

Yay! Congratulations on your deal!! I love EBay and shop on there all the time. Once i know the price of an item I check EBay to see if I can get a better deal I've never had a problem.
I frankly don't understand all the paranoia about ebay. I have bought and sold many many many times, and have never had a bad experience. And if you read the sellers feedback you can certainly get a read on whether or not the deal is "too good to be true".
And realizing that this is not the thread to debate the pros and cons of SU, I frankly don't understand why anyone would go to such lengths to buy from a demo either. In my cyber mind if I found a "must have" set from SU I would buy it online if the price was right and it could be shipped immediately. If not I would totally stalk ebay for what I wanted. The whole notion of contacting a demo, placing an order on the (gasp) TELEPHONE, then what?????......sending a check in the mail.......then she waits for the check to clear....... then waiting for her to get the item in stock........then waiting for the item to arrive.........good grief. Sounds like a Tupperware party from 1960.
So congrats to you on your ebay find.
