Default Uses for VersaMark pen

I bought a VM pen with my first SU order two years ago, and haven't yet figured out how to use it. Can anyone help this fairly new stamper??

My friend uses it to sign her cards, then putting embossing powder on it, and then heating it up with the embossing heater thing.

I used it to make the chalk stick better when I did a tumbled marble tile.

I haven't tried this, but couldn't you use it to emboss only a small feature of an image by stampiing in regular ink first and then coloring over it in just the place you want to emboss (like the center of a flower, for example) with the versamarker to add ep to just that spot (sorry for the insanely long run-on sentence!)

I will use this if I want to emboss something that I freehand. (like a signature as mentioned before) Sometimes, this pen is the perfect thing for a touch-up job. Meaning...when I stamp with versamark and I don't get a clean image, my VM pen can be used to fix the image. I think I've used it for other things, but can't remember now. I just know that I've needed it a few times and had been very glad that I had it.

Default versamark marker

It's funny you should ask! I was looking this up just this morning! Under "General Discussion" go to the thread "Versamark Marker?". I am going to try to give you a short cut but I'm not sure it will work! Have fun using your marker! Heather (pink-fish)

It's also great for those times when your embossing powder is not sticking to one area of a stamped image - Instead of scrapping it and starting over, you can do touch ups and reapply powder.

Wow...you ladies are fabulous!!! Thanks, Heather, for the link - lots of other great ideas for using the VM pen (I hadn't had any luck finding previous threads on the topic, which is why I started this one!). I can't thank you all enough! This site is definitely addictive!

I read the attached thread but didn't see this one mentioned:

After tearing an edge from cardstock, if it does not stand out enough give it a good swipe with the broad tip. It will highlight it.

You can also create background designs without traditional ink by inking a stamp with VM (in the pad form) and stamping it directly to a colored piece of cardstock. The VM will enhance the color of the cardstock creating a light, muted background. Learned this at a recent SU class!

Default re vm pen

all of the above are very good uses for it, however what i use mine for the most, is to clean my stained stamps! the versamark fluid removes way more ink than the cleaner does. Even old ink thats been on there for months. ( i bought some badly stained stamps at a garage sale, and the vm pen worked great! ) the pad does the same thing, but with the pen, you dont have to worry about mucking it up!

Yup that is what I have used it for, especially when I have made a card with nothing but embossing. It is cool to sign your name and then emboss Also I thought it would be cute for maybe your kids (if you have kids and you let them make cards) to sign a message and then chalk it, etc. Well, you could even right a message yourself and chalk it
