What do you have a lot of - but find you aren't using? For me, this is pretty simple. I have tons of brads and rivets that I don't us (I don't think anyone has used them for at least 5 years!! But I still have them!!!!)
but I also have TONS of ribbons - I love buying them - they have really outgrown the space I have for them - but I find that for various reasons (for one, I can't tie a bow very well in spite of have TWO bowmaker tools!!and for two I don't want to have to pay extra postage so tend to avoid bows anyway)
What are you storing and not using? Or are you better at purging????????????????
Cathy, I'm like you - lots of brads and eyelets and RIBBON! TONS of ribbon, 99% of it retired SU ribbon! I have TONS of SU patterned paper as well, but that doesn't stop me from buying more - I'm a demo, so I need the current stuff! :-)

Stickers! Going back to Creative Memories, Miss Elizabeth when Dollar Tree carried so many supplies, and alphabets galore! I've die cut some banners so I can use the alphabets to spell out greetings. Now that I have the toner pen and a Minc, I can jazz up the card stock style stickers. I am using brads again as I make the small tote bags with handles. They won't be mailed so postage prices are not an issue.
I am awful. I just bought a Big Shot (I had $25 credit at Amazon) that I didn't need. I already have a perfect old Cuttlebug and an old big red original Sizzix machine that I bought second hand a couple of years ago that also works perfectly. Not to mention, I have a personal Cricut that I rarely use.
I'm like you, Cathy. I have tons and tons of ribbon, and I hardly ever use any of it on cards anymore. I have lately begun using my ribbons I bought for papercraft when I wrap gifts, just to use it up.
And last month I made a cute swirly skirt for my granddaughter, and was able to use some printed grosgrain flowered ribbon to decorate the tiers on the skirt. It turned out really cute, and I was glad I thought to use that ribbon.

yeah... lots of ribbon here too. But I do use it once in awhile for other things, like when I make up a gift basket for a shower gift or something. Way nicer than curly ribbon
I did have a whack load of eyelets and brads; when my daughter was building up her stash she liked them so I downloaded them! And she does use them sometimes. I kept the Hodge Podge contents so have a limited supply when i want them, which isn't very often.
I also have a Cricut... not my fault though! My DH is a Tool Man. He stumbled on one of those TV half hour ads and was mesmerized by the 'tool' factor and he bought me one that Christmas. I haven't used it often for sure but he meant well.
I have too much of everything! I haven't been doing any paper crafting lately because I caught the knitting bug (again!). I will get some time once school is out and can get my head back in the game though. Seriously though, I have way too much paper. I love it and don't want to use all the pretty papers because then I won't have it anymore.

We are so much alike, Cat. I also have the "too pretty to use and then I won't have it" syndrome. Aren't we silly?

I have some things I havent used lately, but just b/c I havent-not because I'm over it-
Metal stencils, twinkling H2Os, etc.
I keep having ideas for them. So I know I will get back to them.
I guess I am the only oddball that still likes brads and eyelets. I like eyelets to use with ribbon as I tend to pull too tight just wrapping it around a card layer.
I'm SO behind the curve, I suspect things that are old hat to you all are still new and fun to me.
For those of you with brads and ribbons galore, have you tried making brad bows? Here's stampercamper's tutorial
I have all sorts of stuff in abundance.....now if I just had the time to use it all!
I don't know if they're the same, but there are two tote bag tutorials in the Resources section. One is more designed to hold mini note cards, but they both use brads to attach the handles.
Of course I have too many supplies but I've been really diligent about purging and I've been using up the few brads, eyelets, buttons, etc. since doing more mixed media projects.
I got rid of most unused things when I moved last fall, very liberating. The one thing I have and continue to buy 'cuz they're cool is stencils. Now I have to use them!

Ciocidi. Can you describe the small tote bag? Is it made of paper ?
www.songofmyheartstampers.com is the site where the image and tutorial are located for the one sheet total totebag. I use the 6x6 paper size for the smaller totes. very easy as a project but I do recommend using a strong ds tape to secure all closures. Do not use inexpensive paper as it tears easily.
Every single thing I own that is even remotely craft-related is VERY underused currently - life and work and all of that keep getting in the way. I remain hopeful that my reality will soon be otherwise, though!
In keeping with the intent of the thread, however, I'll say that I can't seem to part with vintage-looking sports stuff, for whatever reason. I have NO reason to own it or use it, but I like the way it looks - ditto on the cowboy stuff and the Disney stuff (most of the grands have outgrown princesses and Winnie the Pooh)...
Fibers - oh my! I cannot even remember what I was thinking when I had to have skeins and skeins and skeins of various yarns and threads and raffia and other misc. 'fiber-type' materials that at this point I have had for about 13 years and I can count the number of times that I have used fibers on one (yes, one!) hand. Now that I'm into mixed media there is a ray of hope that I might incorporate some of these in on a canvas.......hope springs eternal...............

I am a tool junkie. I will buy a new tool and think it will be the cat's pj's. And then reality will smack me. Cricut, CutNEmboss, Circle cutters, Sizzlet, Revolution, Slice, every paper trimmer ever made, tear rulers...........the list goes on and on.
Oh, gosh - I forgot about the fibers. I have tons and tons. And some of them are really beautiful - I will just hang onto them along with the ribbon, brads, and eyelits!!!
Like many others, I have many spools of ribbon that hardly ever get used. But I hang on to it because on rare occasions when a card just needs "something", ribbon has saved the day.
I also have eyelets and brads. Brads I still like to use; especially on male cards and since I really like the whole gears, clocks and steampunk vibe they get used that way too.
I could really dump the eyelets though. A few years ago I dumped all the colored eyelets and only kept white, black and metallics. But those have not been used at all since the last purge.
I also have more DP than I will probably ever use. I've purged more of that than any other supply but still have a sizable amount that rarely gets used.
Cat-woman, where in Alberta are you? No where near McMurray I hope?! Praying for them there and for rain. RAIN!
No, I'm in Calgary. It so devastating and my heart goes out to all those affected by the fires. It really brings tears to my eyes when I think of the how much they're suffering. And then having to start all over. They will be refugees in their own country.

Buttons-still like them. Just need to make more cards!
Corduroy buttons and brads that SU had a few years ago-I got them on the clearance rack -nope just can't get rid of them!
Small approx 3x3 embossing folders and dies that my daughter bought me when she and my other daughter bought me my cuttlebug. I just can't part with them.
That's about it. I have tons of ribbon but I do use it. I have lots of dsp but use that too. I get rid of what I don't like.

Like others here, I'm a ribbon, brad, eyelet hoarder. I have more supplies than fit in my limited space but I can't seem to get rid of them.....because I might need them someday. And often, I do.
Case in point....10 years ago I received some large brads with colored rhinestones in a secret sister deal. They were not my style and I couldn't image using them but I kept them. Last month, I made a card out of a watercolored panel, and couldn't figure out how to embellish it properly. I came across these forgotten brads, and viola, the card came out perfect.
This just reinforces my hoardiness.
I still use ribbons and brads on cards....even the occasional eyelet, but I'm embarrassed by how much I have.
For all of you who still have 'fibers,' brads & eyelits, keep in mind that people who are not crafters have no idea how old your embellishments are, and won't think these items may be passe in our ever-updating craft world.
If they fit the style of your card, go for it!
I was going to make a card with bright fringe-y fibers, and couldn't even find my stash!
I got rid of all my eyelets about 2 years ago. I just did not use them. I use brads, but I have way more than I'll ever use - actually I have way more than I'll ever use in stamps, paper, ribbon, buttons, pearls, Well - all stamping supplies! lol
I have been on a mission to pare down my supplies, but it takes time. I don't want to get rid of something that I know I will use. I have been much more conscience and realistic in purchasing stamp supplies in the past couple of years - I sometimes get to check out and delete my order if I'm not sure I want to spend the money on things I may never use.
I don't use eyelets much anymore, but there are times they are great. Like to put at the top of a tag to thread ribbon or fibers through. Or on a sneaker-shaped card to put the 'shoelaces' through. Or on a corset-shaped card. They are so small to store, so I'm keeping mine.
Can someone just tell me to get rid of the eyelets? Once in a blue moon i use a brad, but pretty much never the eyelets.
I had a bead organizer full of eyelets, carefully arranged by colors and styles. One day I just threw it out and didn't look back. Brads are next. Once you throw some stuff away it is easy to keep going, clearing both shelves and your mind.

This made me laugh out loud. Amazing how these things happen and it does seem to justify hanging on to stuff for 10 years till that one time it comes in handy. I know the feeling.
I didn't know eyelets were out of style. I just put a crop a dial machine and some metalic eyelets into my Amazon basket to "pre-own" till I click on the PLACE ORDER button. I thought I would use these on tags, on car stamps for the headlights, on wagon stamps for the wheels, etc. Make flower designs out of them. The steampunk ideas were great.
I have a ton of brads in every color - and I'm going to make a lot of Brad Bows now. I bought those brads 10 yrs ago and I think they might be breeding in there...
I still love using brads.always on the prowl for SU gingham ribbon.love, love this stuff.
now I might have too 12x12 DSP.I love making 6x6 recipe cards/swaps.a friend told me to always buy 6-8 sheets.that's a lot of paper.
I do purget every once in awhile.
