Default Trying to decide between...

the regular MISTI or the mini version.

If you have the mini version, do you wish you'd ordered the larger one? 95% of my stamping is for A2 size cards, so I tend to think the mini will be fine, but then I doubt myself. I've never used one - just watched videos.

If you've used both, do you prefer one over the other?

Thanks,

I have both and use both. If i'm just stamping an image and/or sentiment on a layer I reach for the mini. If I'm making a one layer card or doing a special stamping technique I go for the original. Also, the original you can lay your the full A2 flat. Just depends on what type of stamping you do.

Currently I have the mini one. and I love it! I mostly make cards. So for now this is what I'll use.

I got a really good deal through Scrap Mart and got free shipping with mine.

I have both and use them both. If you can afford the original I would go that way so that you are able to stamp any size. I like my mini for sentiments and smaller stamps. It depends on how much space I have as to which one I am using at the time.

This is kind of it for me too - I'm usually working in a 6" space by the end of the day, so it's nice to not have to clear much room for the Mini beyond that space.

I've had the original for however long My Sweet Petunia has been in business, but just got the mini. If you're unsure, I'd say go for the original. It's more versatile and you can do more. If you don't think you'd need anything larger than the mini, then go with that - it is a very handy, portable, easy-to-use size. When I'm on the go, the mini is what goes with me. If I'm stamping an index or something, the original size is what I reach for. Probably didn't help you at all, did I?

I have both and like crazysuziestamper says, they both get used. They do have different applications, and sometimes it's handy to have both set up to stamp different images on a card rather than change the stamp and re-align everything. I realize that doesn't help you decide BETWEEN them, but if you only buy one, i would buy the original as you can do more than just A2 cards in it.

I own stamps bigger than A-2 so, if I could only have one Misti I would start with the original size.

( I am tempted to go bigger with the scrap sized version my self as that would give me more options of how to move the paper around said big stamps)

Has the quality improved? When I first saw it I wanted one but then heard lots of complaints about poor quality, breaking quickly, etc.

I can't find it now, but someone on another thread pointed out that sometimes we stamp off the edge of a card, and that you can't do that with the Mini.

I'm trying to decide too, but that stuck in my head.

bjeans I have stamped off my edge by not placing my paper in the corner of the MISTI. I will start with a scrap paper to see where it is stamping and then place the paper. I am using the original when I do this.

Mary Jo, her point was you couldn't do that with the mini, only the larger one. But you are able to do that with a mini?

There is a little wiggle room on the mini. I did take Penny Black flower stamp and did stamp off the paper. The mini is 4.75 x 6 in stamping area. Some stamps will work, not all. I have both the original and mini. Most of what I stamp off is with the original.

I often stamp something using the bottom side of the MISTI and then have another stamp at the top for another stamping. For instance, this morning I stamped some envelopes with a gold "hats off to you" and a black graduation cap above it. I could easily do this with the larger size, but I don't think it would have been possible with the smaller one. Not that it is a big deal, but it does save some time doing it this way. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks, everyone. Since I'll only be buying ONE, I think I'll go with the original. Now to watch for a sale or free shipping. School is out, so I'm looking forward to stamping regularly again.

I would recommend getting the bigger one as it will have more options. I only have this size. If I was buying today - I would get the bigger size
