Default Thinking about getting rid of stuff

Hi all! I just got divorced and moved back in with the rents..... Mom has pretty much duplicate of everything I have and I am thinking about getting rid of alot of stuff. My question is any finding easier to get rid of stuff in garage sales, ebay or on sites like this? Most of it is Stampin' Up! and PTI items

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Well, if you must de-stash, I would say do it here first...Free, no set up or tear down, no signs and, uhm, free

I can recommend the BST forum here wholeheartedly! I've used it for years and actually have made some very good friends, too.

If it's Stampin' Up, make sure it's retired or it can't be posted for sale here on SCS. I recently sold quite a few PTI sets also.

Sometimes a local store has 'customer yard sales' and you can get a table for a small charge and you know the shoppers will have an interest right from the start. We don't have anything "local" but I recently discovered two such stores 1 to 1-1/2 hours away. I actually think it will be well worth it and have a table reserved at one of them. It is mostly a scrap store though and I have a lot of stamps but I'm going to ask "garage sale" prices just to move them.

Garage sales are my last choice ~ no matter how low you price it, people want to bargain, and traffic is too uncertain. Will people come? Will they be stampers/crafters? Odds just don't seem good. UNLESS you know others who would like to join you and publicize it. That kind of depends on the area where you live.

Good luck!!

In addition to the BST forums here, the PTI forums have a BST board. While not as active as these boards, you may have better luck finding PTI fans searching for sets there.

I think this is especially true if you're willing to ship overseas. Shipping from PTI is so expensive, so a lot of the international fans look for second hand sets.

I've had good luck selling some of my stash on Craigs list... Free and no shipping issues. I met the buyers in a public place and stipulated cash only.

Uhm...might I suggest you package up and store any duplicates for when you move into your own place....unless you are planning on spending the rest of your life with the 'rents (lol).
