Default Things to see in Seattle WA

What are don't miss things to see or do in Seattle (including stamp stores). I am attending a training class and added a few days to see a bit of the area. Thanks in advance for any ideas!

For stamp stores: Impress Cards Crafts and Rubber Stamps

Sights? It's all about the water.
Day trip to Mt. Rainier
Walk along waterfront
Seattle Aquarium (on waterfront)
Pike's Place Market (just above waterfront)
Not done in years: Underground Tour. Still around? Unique!
Harbor boat tour

The Edgewater for happy hour. Beautiful setting... watch the boats, enjoy the interesting features of the lounge and just chill.
Also, the underground was very interesting.
Best public library I've ever seen (and I'm a retired librarian). Nice gift shop.
Enjoy.

Great suggestions...living in Seattle, I take so much for granted.

Walking along the Pier is fantastic! You can do this and go to Pike Place Market on the same day...just make sure you have some comfy walking shoes on. There's also the ferris wheel:
Seattle Great Wheel | Ferris Wheel | Things to Do in Seattle | Seattle Attractions | Seattle Great Wheel

Stamp stores....Impress, definitely! The one in Tukwila is the bigger store.

Also, A Muse Studio Shop. It's such a cute shop:
A Muse - Phinney Ridge - Seattle, WA | Yelp
While you're there, you can also walk around Green Lake:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/green-lake-park-seattle

It's just too bad that so many LSS have closed.

If you want to do some shopping, then Bellevue Square/Lincoln Center is the place to go.

Seattle Center/Space Needle, Pacific Science Center & EMP:

Glass Museum:

Just taking a ferry ride is fun.

Snoqualmie Falls - you would need a car for this trip. It's about 45 minutes from Seattle, but well worth the trip.

For an overview of Seattle get on the Emerald City hop on hop off trolley. Or ride the Duck... a land and water tour. And of course all of the above mentioned tours. Have a great time. I live about 85 miles south of Seattle and I often visit my daughter there.

I would recommend Chuhuliy glass museum. Right at the base of space needle. Between those two things and pike market, that was all the time I had, but they were a good way to spends the day!!

My class runs 8/4 to 8/8 and my free days take me through to 8/13. I leave around 2 on that Wednesday. Thanks for all the great suggestions and keep the ideas flowing. I keep adding to my list!

You can take the Clipper...either spend the day or night in Victoria, BC:
Victoria Clipper Ferry Schedules & Fares for Seattle Passenger Ferries

Vancouver, BC by train (I think it takes about 4-5 hours on the train)
Amtrak Cascades Train - Vancouver, BC - Seattle - Portland - Eugene & More | Amtrak

And if you are interested in seeing homes (from the water) of folks like Bill Gates and Howard Shultz, Argosy does tours of Lake Union and Lake Washington where you can see them (from afar of course!)

My daughter and I went a few months ago and had the time of our lives! I found a lot of suggestions through TripAdvisor.
- We couldn't get enough of Pikes Market! We went back several times.
- Chuhuliy glass museum is amazing!
- We took two walking tours: a gourmet food tour (Savor Seattle) and ghost tour (Market Ghost Tours). Both gave us a great lay of the land and terrific history lessons.
- My daughter and I love bungalow, craftsman style homes, which we don't see much in Texas. Our hotel concierge drew out a road map of fun neighborhoods. It was a great and different way to see Seattle. We found the home that inspired the Disney/Pixar movie, Up!

We had such a good time, my husband and I are planning to go again in August. I'll be taking notes of all the great suggestions here.

Enjoy and Have Fun!
