Oh, okay! So SU will take the guess work out of where to start, because Copics have so many colors I just got overwhelmed and never bought any because I didn't know what to buy first. And they will choose the shades. YAY...this really works for me. I am very excited about this.
This is why I'm excited too! I love the look of Copics but don't know where to start, and am a little worried I'd turn into a collector and need them all. Since Stampin' Up has picked a variety of key colors, I don't need to think so much (other than what I want to color first...bring on Sale-a-Bration!).
I could study until the cows came home, or that hot place froze over, and I would NEVER be able to color something like that, with pencils or anything else. That flower is spectacular. My eyes bugged out when I saw it. Amazing to think someone accomplished that with pencils.
Your flower is beautiful, Diane. What I need is a lesson in how to color. I actually had to drop an art class once because the instructor said, "Draw what you see." Well, if I could do that, I wouldn't have been there.
I am still hopeful that my next door neighbor, an elementary art teacher, will give me some coloring lessons one day.
Now, just in case you think I did that flower...I didn't. That's what I'm trying to learn. I'm finding that the secret is layering...just like my watercolor techniques. And it's all with no forceful blending.
I'm learning by copying beautiful artwork...and having books with step by step instructions...and practice.
