Question SU Shimmery White question

Does anyone know how this paper compares to Stardreams? I have some shimmery white stardreams paper and tried the watercolor technique that everyone is doing with the Fifth Avenue Floral rose but got lousy results. The stardreams seems to be coated rather than absorbent like regular cardstock. I don't have any of the SU paper so I can't really compare them. Anyone?

Thanks!

You're exactly right, the Stardreams has a coating so ink sits on top (but dang! it's pretty, isn't it?! ) The SU! shimmery white has sparkles, but is more absorbent. HTH

Thanks for the info. I tried the technique on watercolor paper and wasn't pleased with that either until I used Twinkling H2Os - it turned out really well!

The SU shimmer paper is Curious brand, called Cryogen White
Try here:

it is different then the stardream paper.

Cryogen White is the same as SU Shimmery White.
It's available from eclectic Paperie.

are you guys 100% sure that cryogen is the same? I haven't seen the cryogen so I'm not disputing, but someone sold me a TON of paper marketed as the same as SU's and it is not as nice. So, I wondering how you guys know this. Just asking!

I purchased the Cryogen White by the ream when visiting Portland (and man, I ended up with some in white, poison ivory and some mocha/latte colors as well as a broze-y chocolate), and oh yeah, it's the same. Good stuff!
