I'm not upset about it nor do I "put the blame" on anyone, never said that! lol, just think it's goofy, funny, weird, for lack of better words...I have a FANTASTIC demo, but I am all the way in Germany and catalogs are slow to arrive here, but thanks for the advice! Some people just want to see it, just not seeing what all the fuss about, it's not gold or anything people just are curious as to what they should or shouldn't wait to spend their money on. Same way people stay up late for PTI releases, or to see what the next challenge is on SCS or something...;)
Someone sent me a link to the New Holiday catalog. I opened it and found a virus and bunch of porn attached too.

Exactly....so in theory you could stay up on July 31st when it posts on the SU site on the official release date. People are always going to want it released earlier and earlier and that just can't happen, kwim? SU has a few reasons for not wanting the digital copy shared before it goes live and they are very valid and have been hashed over here on SCS many times:-) As a demo, I know that I personally want to follow the policies SU has set forth because it's the right thing to do just like I have to do in my "real" job. If they were to come out and say that yeah, we could post it/send it early then I would. It's not like we want to hold out or enjoy it.....but they have their reasons. Sorry you're slow to get your copy. Sometimes even in the states they can take a long time even for demos. But, even if you don't get yours by the release date your demo can send you the digi copy on Aug 1st or you can download it online then!

As always I find this line of debate captivating. I think it is a marketing strategy and it is working- on all of us, customer or demo. Nothing more exciting than the hype and the thought of seeing something before everyone else. Which ever side you are on -enjoy the view!
I totally agree SU has GREAT marketing strategies, just look at how they are constantly retiring and bringing out new colors and images. It creates a constant 'buy' pattern. They have some very smart people working for them ;)
I feel like one of the perks of being a demonstrator is getting to see the catalogs early and being able to pre-order. I actually think its quite rude to ask the demonstrators in this forum to send links to the catalogs when we all signed an agreement with SU to follow their policies. If someone wants to send links, which some obviously do, that's up to them but how rude to call out those demonstrators who don't want to do that. For those of you who have a demo who doesn't keep good contact with you about specials and catalogs and such, maybe it's time to find a new demo.

It IS awesome -- IMO, the best mini in quite awhile. I held out some $$ from my new catty order so that I'd have some available for the mini, as my demo told me it was awesome. I helped her with convention swaps last night and she showed me. I saw at least 3 things I am definitely getting -- and that takes up my held back amount. Saw others I liked, but will have to save more if I am going to get them.
Well, the fairies, leprechauns, sprites and just straight up fun folks brightened my day! What a fun catalog!! Now for the real work...going through my Christmas stash and seeing what I have vs what I need!! I see a few things that I do really like, especially the embossing folders!! I made some quick cards last year that were just embossed with a ribbon and a pop-up sentiment on them and seems that those were the ones my friends liked the most! Super simple! Thanks to all of you who shared Wonder if anyone will come up with a $20 bill stamp for me? A new In Color called "Got me some Green" and a framelit that is just the right size...Just thinking out loud ;)

Minders, have you tried out the new die cuts that match stamp sets? I am wondering how they work. Do you stamp first and then cut or cut first then stamp...very interesting!

Yes, they are framelits so you stamp first and then line up and cut:-) They work very well...I'm just using some of them as we speak! Super easy to use and super cute!!!!!

Thanks, I just wrote myself a note to check on Tuesday. I am very excited about these sets....
How strong is the scent on the scented embossing powders?
I don't have the Christmas scents (yet - my order arrives Wednesday). But I have the three scents in the main catalogue.
The strongest scent is cherry ... and you notice it most opening the container. I've embossed with it, and it's stayed "sniffable" for a week or more, but not overpowering.
I made an example in the morning, took it to Card Class in the evening, and my hostess, who is VERY allergic/sensitive to scents was able to have it in the house, as long as I didn't wave it under her nose. but then, I didn't leave it out long.
I think it's a nice 'touch' ... but not overwhelming.
Vanilla is the next strongest.
Melon didn't seem to have as much scent ...
Don't remember what winter scent I'm getting ... it's part of the free bundle I get because of my SU! title. (did I mention that I love being a demo!)

They would probably be ok....it's been a while since anything smelly has triggered one but I ain't taking no chances:-) Coconut lotion from Bath & Body Works? FORGET about it, lol!
Just think if the person who sent it to me. Had a virus with porn attached to it. anything that person sends out.......well affect the other person's computer. Unless they have really good Virus protection on their own computer.
