SU Gallery Index Cards Project; volunteers welcome. Updated 02/29/2024
After 6 years of great work, Karen is stepping back. Thank you for all you did, Karen.
I've started processing the cards that are still in the Index Cards gallery, and will update the following threads to reflect this.
History
Way back in 2004, the idea was developed to have an index card at the beginning of each gallery to show all the stamps in the set. This project continues over time as SU! continually adds new sets. The trick to this project is getting people like you to take your new sets and make index cards every time new stamp sets come out.
What is an Index Card?
It is a stamped panel or card made from all of the images of a given stamp set--like these: Index Card Example Alphabet Example
An index card allows you to see all the stamped images in a set, without having to flip through your catalog or retired catalogs as the case may be. They are especially helpful for when the new sets come out and you want to see the stamps in a set before you have an SU! catalog in hand.
Stampin' Up!'s copyright rules do not allow us to just photo copy the stickers. Instead, the goal is to stamp each image (and only the images from that set). If you wish to make the index card like a handmade card, that is fine - just don't obscure any of the images - remember the focus should be on each image.
What can I do to Help?
Look over the list below and decide if you have any of the stamp sets. If you do, post to this thread which stamp sets you'd be willing to make an index card. I will post to this thread to confirm that you have been assigned the sets you want to do (to make sure there are no duplicate efforts by all of you). Go and make your best card front with each image in your stamp sets and upload the images to the card gallery (either your own member gallery or to the Index Gallery {Special Collections -> Index Cards}.
** It's super-helpful if you can itemise the stamps, and also mention whether they are rubber or photopolymer, and what catalog they were released in, as in the linked sample. Not necessary, but super-helpful if you do.
Then post to this thread so I know it has been completed. I'll do the rest!

The lists in the next couple of posts contain the new and old sets that still need index cards. If there is a name by the set, then there is a volunteer already for that set.

Mondays right now are my crazy busy day when I don't always have the energy to make it upstairs to the PC. But tomorrow I'll update the list, and it will be super if you have older sets too! Anything from 2019 and earlier is in post #2.
Sets people have already volunteered for are in green with a name beside them, so if the ones you mention are not spoken for, feel free to go ahead: the only post I haven't yet included in the assigned lists is Beverley's one just before yours. Thanks so much for volunteering. See the instructions in the first post for how to upload to the Index Cards gallery; I can grab them from your member gallery once you say here that you are done, but it's handier to have them gathered in one gallery ;-).
I might be able to help, but I have no idea how to upload to the Gallery. I don't have a gallery myself, so I would have to go with the gallery option, but don't even know where to start. I love the index cards!

If you prefer not to start a gallery and upload here, you could always email me your pictures. Since the username gets reassigned from the original owner to "galleryindex", I'd just upload them directly under that name.
Uploading is pretty easy - there's a post here with a screenshot: if you want to give it a go.
But if you prefer to email me, just drop me a pm and I'll give you my address. Thanks for your interest. If you already like the index cards, then you know what's needed!
