i just got mu bundle of clear blocks and now i dont know where to store them.. should i put them in a cute clear bag or in a box? and for some odd reason i dont want to take them out of the package! i dont want them to get dirty... why i have no idea.. i guess cause there so nice looking ..
I have quite a few clear blocks and was so frustrating with trying to store them! One of my girlfriend's showed me how she stores hers - in a Creative Memories bag like this - http://www.creativememories.com/Main...tes/Daisy-Case There's plenty of room in there for the SU set I have (I have the full set), plus the dozen or so of other blocks I've collected over the years.

I store my Acrylic blocks in a plastic "pencil box" that kids use for school...It works great! HTH!

I use a clear rubbermaid container for all my stamping accessories (inc. scrubber, spray, powders). If you stamp often or have the space, you could repurpose a box or tin so they are easily accessible.
Don't worry about getting them dirty. A quick spray of stamp cleaner and a good wipe and they look like new.
I toss mine in one of my small JetMax drawers. I use mine so much that they are no longer pretty. I don't worry about my "tools" getting dirty. To me is just means I'm getting my money's worth. Tools that are "pristine" are the ones I rarely use LOL
I just keep a basket on my stamping table that I toss all of my clear blocks in. Now that all of my stamps are unmounted, the blocks are easily my most-used supply. So they get front row seats!
I keep my blocks in a basket too, there is no hope for keeping them clean all the time if you plan to use them, lol! I gave up on that long ago! Now they're inky and loved
I used to keep cheap clear blocks in a sterlite drawer. But when I got some of the new SU blocks I tossed all but 2 of the old blocks and switched to a small basket. I made a simple fabric and cotton batting liner for it to protect the blocks-they stay on their sides and don't rattle around. I attached the liner to the basket handles with ribbon. I keep the blocks somewhat clean by rubbing them on my jeans before I put them away!
I only have a few clear blocks. I mainly use the only SU one that I have and I store it on my desk with my computer speaker sitting on it. That space is being used any way and it's handy for me.
I bought some cute metal containers in the $1 bin at Target and I just throw them all in one of those and keep them on my craft table. Clear blocks and adhesive and scissors are the tools I use on EVERY project so I keep them right in front of me.
I have mine standing up in one of those clear acrylic box frame thingies. I have them standing up to where I can see the letters of each block. They fit perfectly and look so nice. :P

I store mine a couple different ways. The larger blocks I have stored in a large Clam shell box and the smaller ones I have in a zippered Pencil pouch.
Another basket on the table person.
My upline printed the block letter and dimensions on white paper and stuck it to the blocks so she knew which one to use each time.
I'm using my extra SU clamshell boxes bc they stack nicely on my shelves and I can see them easily.
I'll also another vote for cleaning your blocks with alcohol or windex. It keeps them oil free and helps the clingy stuff stick better!
Be cautious with the cleaners if you use blocks with grid lines on them. Some of the cleaners will erase the lines! I love my grid blocks, so I usually just use water and a little bit of dish soap to clean them.

Good idea on the warning as it is not recommended cleaning acrylic with windex, 409, or any harsh cleaners. The cleaners will eventually put spider cracks in your acrylic.
If you do a google search on cleaning acrylic you will find that mfg. do not recommend using harsh cleaners. I checked with demo support and they hadn't heard of the cleaning issue.
I have some really good quality blocks that now have cracks because I used Stazon cleaner on them. I checked with Tsueniko and they said that Stazon cleaner is safe for the blocks, but it's not true.
If you want pristine blocks, I'd stay away from harsh cleaners and stick with Stampin mist, soap and water, or the gentle homemade cleaners.
I have a little sterilite 3 drawer unit on my table that I keep the things that I use most in and that's where my blocks are. I have one set with grids and then a couple more without in various sizes. For really big stamps like background stamps, I use my C Plate from my Cuttlebug as a block. I had a large one (6"x8") made up from scap acrylic from a sign maker company, but for the life of me I can't find it - that's what I get for not being organized.... :(

That's so funny because I have been doing the same thing with my new SU clear blocks....putting them back in the package each time! I can't keep doing that!
I really love the way the SU blocks feel (way better than any other clear blocks I've tried) and will buy the clear option in all my stamps from now on. So, I think, like others have suggested, that I will keep them in an open basket on my desk. That way I can grab them quickly. I do wipe my blocks clean each time. A paper towel or dried up baby wipe work great on clear blocks. I may get a soft cloth to keep in the basket with the blocks just for cleaning.
I don't feel the need to know what letter block I'm using, but I will probably mark the edge with a Sharpie just for reference.
Do you think Simple Green would be gentle enough to clean the blocks with? :-) LM

If they are stored in something then I cant use them...I have them in a plastic basket on top of my table as they are an essential piece of equipment in order to stamp. Oh and the dirty thing...between Stazon Cleaner and Simple Green you can get just about anything off those blocks...I use both of these all of the time...just dont use a scrubby pad on them as it will scratch them.
I keep mine is a cardboard cigar box. I got it at one of the craft stores (not sure which one). It is white and I keep saying I am going to decorate it, but so far, I haven't done it. Anyway, it sits on my desk and I also keep my "made by" stamps in the same box so they are handy to use when I need them.

This post on my blog (http://paperfriendly.blogspot.com/20...oes-it_21.html) has cleaning info for acrylic blocks. There's a link at the bottom of the post to another post describing how to keep the blocks clean from the get-go. I've got acrylic blocks that I got in 94, and they still look like new thanks to this method.
Gosh, I must be the ONLY one who puts my acrylic blocks in a gallon size freezer bag??!! I like using the bag because I can easily SEE which block I need. The bag fits nicely in one of my storage drawers as well. Hope this helps? Does anyone have the RECIPE for a safe cleaner for acrylic blocks? AND will it remove Stazon ink? Thanx, Stampin Busia
The above link raves about the Mr Clean Magic Erasers, and the generic ones at Dollar Stores work great on acrylic blocks. It is supposed to take off Staz On and other inks. I plan to try it myself.
