Default Stores in Chicago area

We are going to be traveling to the Chicago area in a few weeks, staying in La Grange. What are some of the stamp/scrapbook stores that would be good to go to?
Thanks!

Southwest of the city is StampThyme:

http://www.stampthyme.com/

Cottage Stamper is in St. Charles (fairly far west)

Home Page - the CottageStamper, St. Charles, IL 60174

In the city, closer to O'Hare is Stampology:

Chicago stamp book classes, custom cards, private parties, stampers paradise at Stampology

And we have Dick Blick stores (Copics, watercolor crayons, all things artsy) downtown and near Woodfield Mall in Schaumberg. There are also two Ikeas, in Schaumberg and Bolingbrook.

Have fun!

I just spent a week in Chicago and did the rounds. In addition to the three previously mentioned there are:

Stamp, Scrap, and More in Mundelein

https://ssl.perfora.net/www.stampscr...dex.shopscript

CraftFancy in Arlington Heights

CraftFancy | Chicagoland's Premier Paper Crafting Store!

Memories and Beyond in Downer's Grove

Home

More than Memories

MTM

There was also The Scrappin' Bee in Gurnee but the link is no longer working so I don't know if they're still open as I didn't make it there on this trip.

My personal favorite is Stamp, Scap, and More followed by CraftFancy and Stampology. More than Memories has become more of a wedding invitation business with a small stamping/scrapbooking section. Stamp Thyme is a nice sized store with a lot of selection. The Cottage Stamper is a quaint little store, a little over-priced but the people are sweet as can be. Memories and Beyond is a HUGE scrapbooking store with an okay rubber stamping section. There's also an Archiver's in the mall in Gurnee.

All these stores are within an hour to an hour and a half from each other. Of course, that time is dependent on the traffic.

Have a great time!

Here is one in Elmhurst. It's small, but jam packed with goodies! Home

Wow - great suggestions. There are actually several Archivers in the area: Algonquin, Downers Grove, Gurnee, Naperville, Niles and Orland Park. Definitely worth a trip if you don't have them where you live. Archiver’s Online

Not sure if it's still the same way, but that Blick's didn't carry much. I usually take the train to the big one downtown to get what I need. Once I called to see if I could get Copics at Wheaton and they said no, they don't carry them. The one downtown is NICE, easy access to the art students.

I have lived in the Chicago area my whole life and have not been to many of the stores listed here, but I will check them out. I do go to Stamp Thyme fairly often. It is jam packed, but they don't turn their inventory over often enough for me. I'm also not sure they carry what the consumer likes as much as what they like, but they do have a wide variety. Even though the store is not huge, it takes a long time to get through it.
