OK, I was totally inspired by Iris's Altered Lunchbox card file, but now I need to know where to find 'em! She said she saw it in an Oriental Trading company catalog, but I couldn't find top opening ones on their site. Anyone know I can get these? Thanks!!
OH Darn.....they are out of Stock - I just called and they do not have an estimated date of delivery but she said they should be getting more in.....they were $4.95 each so they might be worth waiting on!
There as a cute wooden box (think cigar kinda) too IN-48/3708

Thanks everyone!! I did find that cigar box type purse (I had done a search on "box" so saw a lot of great stuff!) as well as the standard lunch box. They're all cute and stampable, but I really liked the idea of the card file.
I also found the Basic Grey line at Scrappiness.com. I've ordered from her in the past and she has fantastic service.
Well I have found out that the boxes are made by Provo Craft.....all the online stores that I have found that carry them are out of stock SO I called Provo Craft and they are scheduled to go out the 2nd week of November :(
SO unless you can find them at a local store or on ebay then you probably will not find them.....
The Basic Grey ones look cool and I think I will do a search for those ;)

Michael's carries the Provo Craft tin you are looking for...I just picked one up like the card box last week...they ran $5.99/6.99...I used a coupon...they also have a round tin and a small lunch box shaped...if you have more than one Michael's check them all...I had to hit all three in town to find the one you are looking for...at one of the stores they were over in the art department and I cannot remember at the other store (one store said they did not carry them)...good luck
I found my 6 tin boxes at Michael's in the cake decorating section. All stores do not carry them. They are $6.29. Good luck finding them on the Internet cause darn near everybody is out-of-stock as they are very popular right now. I made 4 card organizers out of them and now I'm switching over to paint cans for fun.
I've ordered some from ktcrafts and the plain ones are only $5.50. But, she is backordered, like everyone else and won't be sending them out until November. I checked Michaels but couldn't find them. I can't wait to get my hands on them. Check out the peanut gallery at twopeasinabucket.com. Just search for "lunchbox" - there are some incredible examples. There are also some for sale on ebay, if you want to see more samples.
Well My Michaels does not have them....searched the whole store and even went to Hobby Lobby.....I am so bummed! I will not pay the ebay prices to get one either! SO if anyone has one that they want to get off their hands I would love to have one! Was wanting to do one for my dd's fall fundraiser and they are due to the school the first part of November!

I join you all in frustration in not being able to find these boxes. I am on the backorder waiting list at KTcrafts. BUT as an alternative....I was wandering around our local Walmart when AH-HA I came upon a jewelry box that I can easily transform into a card box. It measures 6 X 5 inches, opens from the top and has a handle on top, looks like a little treasure chest with a handle top. The next best thing to those other coveted boxes.
Thanks for the links! I just went to go check out the oriental trading co. and they had them in stock...and they were just $4.95 each! yahoo! ... I can't wait to work on some of these for christmas gifts.

You ladies must have bought them out! I just tried ordering and they were out of stock!
They are out of stock until sometime in November when they ship from the company that makes them ( I spoke to both companies) I think she must have ordered the side open boxes???

our Michael's also has a metal (not white but galvanized/silver) tin with a lid that comes off and a handle...it was over by all the galvanized stuff...it is similar shape to the one you are looking for and might do the trick...
I just got that catalog today - but when I entered that item # online, it said it was out of stock.
If you want it for future reference, it is: DV-65/90055
It's called a purse tin container.
They are back in stock.
New customers get free shipping on orders of $40 or more. There is a ton of scrapbooking stuff that I never knew OTC sold. I picked up some funky ribbons. I love the SU ribbons -- but it seems like dots, stripes, etc. is very much in style.
My white metal purse tin should be here soon. Now I am off to start making the inside dividers . . . .
Thanks Trish!
I got that OT catty in the mail, it was called Fun Expressions, yes, there was a bunch of great stuff in there! I placed an order last Saturday, but I only ordered 1 box. They are back in stock? What are the chances they still have some when I get off here and call?? LOL!
