Default So happy I didn't wait! (CHF closing)

So happy I didn't wait to buy the stamps I wanted from Cornish Heritage Farms! 3 of the 4 sets I bought Thursday evening are now GONE! I got Baby Dear, Vintage Baby Expressions, Zebra pair, and the background stamp that is made up of license plates. What did everyone else get before the sale started?

I'm really kicking myself! I got the Sew Special set and the Vintage Ledger scrapblock before the sale and really wanted the Distressed Grid and the Aged Sheet Music one, but thought I would wait till they went on sale. Yeah right-never had a chance at all and I was right there when they opened after taking stock. If anybody should have these and wants to sell I would be very interested in these! So glad you got what you wanted!

I'm wondering if they pulled certain stock before the sale. I didn't look on Thursday to see what was left but there are entire lines missing. Guess if I really "needed" them, I would have bought them before now!

I'm sure that they had to have pulled certain things. How could every single set in certain lines be gone? The only one that I didn't get that I wanted was the ATC set about old fashioned love with the vacuum cleaner. Woe is me!

From the reading of their process, it sounded like only stuff they had left after all the orders would be put on sale. They even stated that they were going to be pressing more rubber to fulfill the non-sale orders. If they had tons of people purchasing certain lines, then the non-sale orders would have completely depleted their stock AND they have to press more to fulfill the committed orders, so there wouldn't be any of those lines to put on sale. I know some of the lines were newer and maybe they didn't have a ton of stock of those to begin with because they wanted to see how popular they were going to be before they made a bunch to have on-hand. Some of those lines are completely gone, so the non-sale orders probably took every last one they had pressed. I'm just guessing based on what they said in their announcements of their process. I haven't been checking on their stock because I ordered most of what I wanted the day they made the announcement, then I placed another order to use up all my Club CHF points that I earned with my big order.

I got the Thomas Kinkade Dogwood Chapel. I had the Lighthouse one for quite some time and love it, but I wanted one I could also use for Easter, Christmas and Wedding and I can make Dogwood Chapel work for all three!

I ordered what I wanted before the sale. I didn't want to wait and hope they would go on sale. They may be gone.
They said in the original announcement that they had been planning this move for quite some time so I thought they probably didn't have a vast inventory on hand
I have my stamps already. They came in less than a week.
I got "Asian Portraits" & "Tiled Scallops" ( I thought they go together nicely)
I also got "Pin Dot" & "Ornamental Borders" scrapblocks Plus "Climbing Floral" Background stamp.

Everything I ordered before the sale is now gone

I ordered Kim Hughes' Tag, You're It and Mocha Chica sets (cut out and mounted) and the Distressed Circles Scrapblock. Just checked...all three are gone now! Glad I got them when I did!

Problem with Ellen's site is that she either had ones I already had or didn't have those I wanted. Great prices, though! (Can't wait to take advantage of the Tim Holtz pre-order that she's got shown on her homepage).

That is so-o-o true. And by the looks of what is left on Ellen's site people cleaned her out !!
The inventory is picked over and the sale prices on CHF right now are not great. IF a store wants to sell "left overs" they need to have real clearance pricing of 50% % off or more
People will buy a stamp set that only has a couple of stamps that they like if the set is cheap enough

I can't believe the stamps I wanted are all gone... I did have a LONG list though. Are there other online stores selling the CHF stamps? I tried google-ing with no luck... Help!

I am sad I didn't get the Emerging Turtle from the Sara England line, but like I NEEDED it - I decided it was worth the risk, since i just spent a little bundle at Elzybells

The only place I know of that stocked a lot of CHF stamps was Ellen Hutson. She put all of them on 40% off clearance when the closing announcement was made. People cleaned her out. She had over 350 different stamps , but now she only has around 30 of them left..
You may need to try e-Bay one stamp at a time .

When I carefully read their closing announcement they said these moving plans have been in the works since last year.

I ordered what I wanted before the sale. When they knew they would be moving and closing the business they would have logically been reducing inventory all along. They may have been pressing stamps to order for some time and not had a lot on hand. Before the sale they had very little in ink, paper and tools.
This was a surprise to us not to them.

Don't get upset just yet! . I think Yogi Berra said,' It aint over til it's over"

Perhaps someone will buy the business or some business(es) will buy the rights to some of the lines of stamps.

It would be a huge investment for a company to buy the entire business, especially in this economy, but just like "Riley the Moose" some one bought just those rights and some one may buy the rights to a speciffic line or lines of CHF stamps

I missed this and I know they had a bunch of car stamps that are now sold out :( Guess I better get my order in for what's left. Does anyone know if any other company carries GM stamps?

I missed out on what I wanted too....the CHF backgrounder, Woodgrain. My mom and I both wanted that one. She also wanted the Thomas Kinkade stamp, The Rose Garden. I've started an ISO thread in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum. Sure hope we can find these!

I've seen lots of other wood grain stamps out there, maybe you'll find one from another company? I should do a ISO too, I wanted the Corvette Birthday.

We did see a great woodgrain background stamp made by Hero Arts. But you know how it is when you get your head stuck on wanting something!
