Obviously I'm soooooooo new to this world and am lovin' every minute of it. But what do you use Sharpies for?? I'm a teacher and have or can find in my building every color created, some of us are Sharpie freaks but for reasons other than creating ;-)
You can use Sharpies to color images stamped on acetate/window sheets (stamp on the front and color on the back so you don't smear the stamped image). I think Sharpies can also be used to color on tiles, although I haven't tried that yet. HTH
I use mine to color in my tiles (coasters & magnets). I stamp with Staz On, then color in with sharpies. I'm sure you would use them on many other projects that require a permanent color on something other than paper. They have SOOOOOO many colors now! Whoo-Hoo!!
Can anyone tell me if the sharpies on Viking in the 12 pak is a good deal? and is this all of the colors available? Or is there a better deal somewhere?
Sharpees are great for using with the polyshrink. Just sand down the polyshrink, stamp an image with staz on, let set for a few minutes, and colour away. It works awesome! Then go ahead and shrink! I do this all the time, as they are permanent so they don't smudge.
You can also use sharpies to color drywall tape and voila! colored magic mesh!!!! Thats what I do, its much better priced than real magic mesh and you can have any color you want

I second the polyshrink! Sharpies work really well.
You can also get combo packs at Staples. Last packages I bought there were bright colors like green galore, turqoise, magenta etc. I also got some neat pastels. Both colors came in fine and ultra fine tips.
The link above lists all the sharpies that Staples currently has in the ultra fine tip. They also have a bunch in fine and chisel tips too. Good prices.

The 24 packs of sharpies are the way to go, and can be had for $15-18 if you keep your eyes out. I started with a 17 pack from Walmart (about $10-11), then added on the 5 pastels (about $2 at Staples, "special buy") and have been hunting for the last two colors (a hot pink/fuscia color, and an orange) that Sanford says have been packaged in an 8 pack, but is not available in my area yet. I'm hoping that eventually I will be able to buy them individually (maybe at JoAnn's).
Now, Sharpie lovers, remember the silver metallic (copper and gold have been pulled off the market for the time being, and I read a review that the silver may end up looking more grey than metallic), and the pack of three wood tones (Office Depot, about $3). When my friend Natalie and I were coloring in glazed tile, we noticed the lightest of the wood tones barely showed up, but would pick up the color and let us move it around--it works like a blender pen (though not as easy to use).
