Scout Stamps Alternatives?
I have been repeatedly asked about the retired Girl Power Set for local groups and knowing that the sets available for sale or auction are like winning a lottery, I would gladly refer them to this company...please help!
Does anyone know of a company that offers Scout sets? Please PM me.
I know that CTMH had a Make New Friends Set, but not sure if it is current. A couple of them were seen on ebay for a decent price.
I have been looking for Boy Scout stamps, also very limited. Perhaps it's time to consult the experts, and suggest that a set be made for both girl/boy scouts.

I have written SU asking for them to reconsider taking this set out of retirement and putting it on the dormant list permenantly (since the leaders and scouts and parents are constantly changing), so it would be always available to girl scouts, leaders and parents...that demonstrators might be able to open doors to this hobby to their groups that is so conducive to moms and daughters working on things together as they develope their relationships.
If you agree, please write and tell SU your feelings!

The Girl Power set pre-dates my time with SU!, but I seem to recall hearing that there was a licensing issue that was the reason the set was retired. If so, SU! may be totally unable to reissue the set, regardless of demand. I don't know the whole story, but that might be part of it.

The sets found on page 196 of IB&C 2002-2003 (also Scouts at Play, boys) don't seem to infringe by using any logos, but perhaps SU could re-issue a "less threatening" set. lol
I think the scouts are really limiting the products available. For boy/cub scouts they have some items available through the scout store. K and company has both, but no stamps. I do have scouts at play that I bought off ebay a few years back. Good luck!

I found out that our Service Unit for Girl Scouts has the Girl Power stamp set that you can borrow. So for those of you that are Girl Scout Leaders, it wouldn't hurt to ask your council ~ you just never know.
