I just gave you $1000 to spend in your craft room. You have one day in which to spend it. What would you buy?

I would haul all the vintage metal storage pieces I have found down to the powdercoating shop and have them become one or two colors... ( old metal finds that were bargains in all colors of metal) haha.
I would spend the $1000 on classes and retreats. I would register in one day but spread the classes over several months.
So I could learn things and be inspired to come back and use everything that was already in my craft room.
I too would go to IKEA and get some of the Alex units for my stamp room and really upgrade all the storage in there..
When are you mailing the check???????
Oooh, fun question! I love to dream about the things I would buy if I had enough money. And so glad that I don't have to fit them into my (Paul Bunion-size) backpack!
I would buy:
$150 in Stampscapes stamps
$100 in Impression Obsession dies (cats, dogs, birds, snow globe and several forest/tree dies)
$100 in inks & refills
$100 in beginner calligraphy supplies (pens, nibs, inks, paper)
$350 in a variety of mixed media supplies (gelatos, stencils, a few Pitt brush pens, texture paste, glossy & matte gel medium, acrylic paint, Tim Holtz tissue paper, blank art journals, etc.)
$200 for two IKEA Billy bookcases and a few extra shelves
With a lot of us wanting to go to IKEA, if we weren't stretched across the country, we could meet and go together. What fun and IKEA wouldn't know what hit them!

What a fun question. I would buy an additional MISTI and an additional ScorPal to tuck away for the future. I would buy a complete set of Spectrum Noir markers (cos' I can't colour with Copics). Next I would buy a $500 gift voucher to Unity Stamp Co then with the left over money I would purchase online mixed media card classes.

I like Susie's idea of a gift card! I don't think I could spend that much in one day without being totally overwhelmed. There's no big-ticket item on my list and too many small things coming in, I wouldn't be able to use them all. I'd buy the Penny Black stamps that are on my hypothetical wishlist, and some more good sable watercolour brushes, Arches hot press watercolour paper and the newer distress inks that I haven't got round to buying yet. But since I'm already mentally gearing up for a purchasing freeze next year apart from consumables, there's nothing else I am hankering after that I would want to buy straight off. Unless someone is selling time.
I don't need much in my craft room, spend half that amount on shelving/cabinetry a couple years ago...
BUT I wouldn't refuse it so, I will go to antique auctions until I find a vintage piece I love-like a library card storage piece in that amazing old wood... and with what's left
I guess I will go for coffee
The Glowforge company will process our payment immediately, between $2000 - $4000 and that's at half price, for a product that hasn't been manufactured yet... Seriously?
Well, I'm gonna put up a little more money and bring this baby home - say hello to my new Elio, in Creamsicle, no less! 84 mpg...

I would be ordering Stamp n Storage, for paper, punches, and inkpads. I would replace my table and buy an armless computer chair, at Ikea where I would probably buy new storage units. Thank you!

I'll put the $1000 in a bond (to earn a little interest) until the exchange rate is more favourable.
Interest? What is this "Interest" that you speak of?
Many years ago, I used to get 8% interest on savings account balance. Now, I have to pay the bank the hold my money.

from us. I cant wait til it opens so I can go look at some new storage for my stamp room. Watching the mail for that check!
well, would get a list together of stamps, MISTI, new stampin up stamp pads, storage units, and then some classess/or retreats to learn new techinques and then the rest would be put to use of papers, cardstock, and emblesishments
I would order all of the SU punches that I want, at least 2 packages of each of their card stock, reinkers for all of their ink pads. Then the punch storage from Stamp-N-Storage, as well as 2 or 3 of the 8.5x11 storage. The rest? Hmmm... Major SU shopping spree lol
I would get hard surface flooring (NOT bamboo, it's too soft), and hire an organizer to help put everything back. I'm so used to my storage and work surface arrangement, I wouldn't spend $$ on furniture. Maybe get a new office chair. My computer/office is in this room, too. I would buy a Misti and splurge on some cardstock, stamps & dies from My Favorite Things (WONDERFUL service) and other favorite companies, and maybe dare to try Papertrey Ink!
I'll be watching for the check!

Give them a try. I am a loyal customer. They have worked REALLY hard on the problems they had 3-4 years ago. Customer service is fantastic; the design team and Nichole are out of this world; the website is a dream on release nights; the servers have been upgraded, so checkout is a breeze.
This past release I ordered on the 15th (a Thursday) and had my order on the following Monday (the 19th). Every month I think I can't possibly want anything more - it doesn't take long for that to change!
During release week, from the 10th of each month through the 14th, they give away a $75 gift certificate each night. Then on release night, the 15th, they give one away for $150.00. I don't know of another stamp company that does this. Can you tell I'm a fan? I <3 Papertrey Ink!

I wouldnt, buy any furniture or anything, I have seriously cut down on my stamping supplies I now have a modest collection.
I would spend some money on some organizing supplies (like clear dvd envelopes to organize my stamps or the avery elle ones), plus I would get new mini inks, and some new stamp sets from papertrey ink, mama elephant, sweet stamp shop and lawn fawn, as well as some new dies and definitely copic or zig markers.
OK, I'm going to be Miss Mother Theresa here :-) I have so many things on my wish list and I really don't need many of them. So beyond a MISTI and doing a reno on my space (at IKEA natch) I'd love to open a drop-by art studio in my neighborhood for all ages and abilities.
I'd have a bunch of equipment and wouldn't worry about it getting broken, and a wide variety of supplies so people could just explore and have fun. Volunteer crafters would help me run it, and we would do classes, drop-in art sessions and fundraising craft projects and events. All of the counters and tables and chairs etc. would be accessible, and kids could live it up without worrying about messing things up. Same would go for the parents :-)
Poppy, I love the idea of an art studio! How far away from North Carolina (Boone) are you? I've always wanted to teach, and to be able to teach what I love - well, that just makes my heart sing to think about it!

Poppy you would fit right in here!! My crafty friends and I donate tools, papers and our time to a few local "Community Houses" and After School groups. We also donate to a couple of Aged Care facilities - I recently had a group of ladies all aged over 95, making cards for little pre-school kids and my friend was helping little ones make cards for the old dears. It was fabulous.
Of course the entire world has gone mad and the two groups cannot actually meet....police checks, working with children, working with the elderly....the list goes on.
The craft shop that I go to has a community box where we can drop off tools, cards, papers - basically anything that is in good condition. When the box is full it is donated to various drop-in/community centres. It sure is a nice feeling.

Middle Tennessee think that's a bit too long of a drive even for the most dedicated crafter  But how would love to do this with you and anybody else who wants to! ( SusieAustralia is just too far away ) What a blast it would be...
