Default Rubber stamp deterioration

I have an Inky Antics wood-mounted stamp that I have used several times, but when I went to
use it today,
I noticed that the rubber was hard and cracking in places and I could
not get a good clear stamped image. The stamp has been stored with
other rubber stamps in a clear plastic SU case. The case
was stored vertically on a shelf and was not exposed to sunlight or
extremes in temperature. Is there anything I can do to condition the rubber and save the stamp?

Here's a thread that discussed this at length, Help! Old PSX stamp & foam dried out

Unfortunately, not much helps. I had the same problem and tried glycerin. It didn't make a difference.

Maybe you could copy the image from the block and use it instead of stamping> not sure if that would be against angel policies. I would think it would be ok for personal use.

You might reach out to the company for their advice. Is it an image that they still produce?

I did reach out to Inky Antics and I was surprised to receive an email back from them stating that they would send me a replacement!  This puts Inky Antics high on my list of favorite stamp companies!
