Default Ribbon - what width do you prefer for your cards?

Just curious to see what everyone is using. I'm seeing much wider ribbons lately and after resisting that for a long time thinking it was overkill, it's starting to grow on me.

Depends on the type of ribbon.

I LOVE 5/8" widths, and 3/4" silks too. 1/2" for some is good, and even 1/4" grosgrain is good if it's in the right spot!!

I'm a lover of all ribbon really ;)

1/4, 3/8, or 5/8.

Probably 3/8 the most because I have a zillion colors in that size.

for me it just depends on the card.

i generally reach for the wider stuff these days, grosgrain or twill.

who knows about later on down the road.

I use 3/8 the most but it just depends on the card I'm making.

When I was making a 5 1/2x4 1/4 card I didn't have the width of ribbon in the color I wanted. So I wrapped 1/4" ribbon around about 3 times spreading it out on the sides and edges of the card. I did adhere stamped element over the ribbon the middle to help hold it in place. This gave the effect of having a wider ribbon. Actually I received a complement from a fellow stamper "I loved what you did with the ribbon".

It depends on the card. I use everything from jute twine to funky yarns to wide ribbon. I'm not one to follow a trend; I just use what I like and what my "eye" tells me looks best. :p

The fat ribbon trend made me uncomfortable at first. I had preferred 3/8" but now will use up to 5/8"! LOL! I have used 2+inch wired ribbon on a couple of cards, but I use it like designer paper rather than ribbon

I guess I am no help, but I love it all. Lately I have been using more of 5/8 inch, but still like 1/4 inch grosgrain too. Experiment and try out different bows, sometimes stepping outside your comfort level is a good challenge and you will come up with some great creations!

For me it depends on the project. I use anything from 1/16" linen thread, to 2" Satin. Whatever best suits my project.
