Default Re: stamping back of cards

What stamp do you use on the back of your cards. I have seen so much info about watermarks on people's blogs-but are those for cards too or just for use on blog pictures? I think I have also seen people number their cards (e.g. 1 or 4?) I am not sure how you write that? Thanks for any suggestions

i have a couple sets of SU! stamps for the backs of cards.

when i bought some bellas i also ordered the cardbackabella.

i think most companies have some for the back.

i don't think a card is complete without some 'credit' on the back!

i don't have a 'watermark' and don't know anything about them.
someone else will chime in with that info for you i'm sure!

Nothing fancy here... My favorite little stamp is a silly looking bird so I use that for alot of my card backs but I also have a number of very small stamps and will often try to co-ordinate with what the fronts look like, then I sign my name.

I love, love, love purses so I stamp the back of mine with a little purse stamp my friend found for me, then sign my name. For swaps and SU events I have an angel policy stamp that I use w/my name and info.

May I add a question here? What about when you use a combination of stamps? THEN what?

That wasn't very clear. I meant like a combination of stamp companies?

I have a drawer full of stamps that say things like...Stamped with love by Dianne...A handmade card especially for you by Dianne...even ones that say Created with love especially for you by Aunt Dianne. All those who are used to getting my cards look on the back to see which stamp I have used and if I've gotten a new one. My favorite is From the mind of a Certified Stampoholic Dianne. I get them from Paper Angel. They have lots of choices. Their web address is http://www.paperangel.com

Watermarks, in the context used on these forums, are for digital images. Watermarks can be produced on paper but it is not economically feasible for most hobby stampers. They are usually used on checks, fine letterhead, etc.

I have a small stamp I got ages ago with a flower basket and "hand stamped by" I usually (sometimes I forget) stamp on the back and then sign my name.

This is a good question! I've wondered about this too, as I have no loyalties to any one stamp company and can have images from up to six different companies on a card. Do I need to make bigger cards to fit all the copyright stamps on the back?

As far as "handstamped by" backstamps, some easily-accessible ones that I've seen in frex Mikes include:

Hero Arts' HANDSTAMPED bar code stamp (not in MIkes but in LSSs)

Stampendous' Fluffles the cat backstamp, plus a two different "handstamped by" cubes with four backstamps; one is Xmas and the other is everyday.

Other cool backstamps include the Hallmark parody stamps at www.stampo.com (just type Hallmark in their search feature and a few different ones will come up), and the PRICELESS bar code stamp from River City Rubberworks. Hollymark Stamps at Cornish Heritage Farms also has a set of seven different "hand stamped" cute backstamps for $7-10 depending if you buy the set mounted or unmounted.

I have a cute little stamp I found at Walmart for $5 in a pack with a thank you stamp also. It says "Handcrafted By", and has a little flower. Then I sign my name.

I like that it says "handcrafted" rather than "stamped" so I can use it on the occasional card that doesn't have any stamping on it. Especially now that the Cuttlebug embossing folders came along, lol.

I have two stamps I use... One says *Handmade by* in a fancy square and then I sign my name. The second one I ordered from SU that has a tag *Hand Stamped by:* and my name underneath. I use one of them on every card I make.
