Default Raisin Boat stamps

Anyone rent stamps from this company before? If so did you like the service?

I just discovered them this past weekend at the Scrapbook Expo in St. Charles. CUTE stamps! I'm not a big fan of acrylic stamps but I did buy two Christmas elves sets. I haven't rented from them but I was intrigued by the business model. Don't know if I would rent because I'm all about possession. I think it would be good if you already had your idea in mind and was ready to go as soon as the stamp arrived. It would also be good if you were teaching a class and needed several sets of the same set but didn't want to own ten sets of the same design (I have to thank my DH for that idea as I had not thought of it that way.)

Anybody else?

I have rented from them. Love their service. Very fast and efficient. You choose your stamps for the month whatever plan you choose and they send them out. When you send those back or purchase them, they will send the next set on your list. Great company, no complaints at all!

I have heard of them but never rented (don't know if the option is available to Canada). I like this suggestion and may have to look into it since I want to start offering classes with my digital shop...

I've never rented, just straight-up purchased a few of their cycling & triathlon sets because those are useful and hard to find themes. I'm happy with their sets. Maybe I'll look into renting some.

They're local, so I've seen them at our stamping expo, and a friend purchased a cute hamster set from them, but neither of us have rented.

I have never rented their stamps, but have purchased their stamps outright, which you have the option of doing. I never had any issues with them. They do have a facebook page, and you can subscribe to their e-mail for specials. Just recently, they offered free shipping on one of their stamp sets.

Has anyone used this service? It sounds awesome for someone like me who is new to stamping and have very little owned since I am trying to build up my stock.

Yes, I did do their rental program for a year. I love that you can choose what you want. You sign up for an account, shop their stamps by filling your list with all your choices, put them in any order and then depending on what program you choose, you wait for your stamps to arrive. I loved that there was no time frame on how long you can keep them, plus they provide the return envelopes...it's a very easy program!

I did buy one of their stamp sets at a local stamp show. I used fluid chalk ink on one stamp & it stained the stamp. So it makes me wonder ...

about renting a set & then staining a stamp.

If they will take the set back with stained stamp(s) or if you are obligated to buy the set then.

If you might receive a rental set with stained stamp(s). If you decided to buy that set, if it's replaced with a perfect new set.

Their rental program is an interesting concept. I would want to know how the stained stamp issue is handled before subscribing though.

I found this under tips, La Fonz:

"How to care for your stamps
Gently wipe stamp on a damp cloth. To restore clingability, wash in warm water with mild liquid soap and air dry. *
Store stamps on their set's backing sheet, out of direct light and extreme heat or cold.

*It’s normal for stamps to stain from dark colors or permanent inks. This will not affect stampability – it just means they’re well loved! Do not use acetone, bleach, or oil-based cleaners."
