The secretary in my DD's Law Office has been diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. She will not survive. They give her no hope, and since diagnosis last week, she is no longer able to get off the couch. She has two young sons.
My DD asked if people would send her cards of flowers saying "sending hugs" as there is nothing else to say.

This made me cry. I'll try to get a card in the mail tomorrow, Anne.
I just read up on this disease. How absolutely awful. I know it's one of the diseases they ask about when I donate blood, but never looked into it before.I will send a card out, and say a prayer for this poor woman.

I have one ready to go out tomorrow. I have a lot of Valentine sets. I found "Big Hugs" and that made me happy. I have never heard of this disease. Heartbreaking.

Update: Dori is thrilled with all the cards she is receiving!! On Sunday, her whole family came to see her, and one of them carried her out to his boat to take her for a ride. On Monday, she fell in the house, and now has a 24 hour nurse to help her. Please keep sending cards if you can. She is doing poorly, and she is such a dear woman!!

Thank you for the update. I'm glad the cards are making her happy. It's terrific she could take a boat ride. So sorry to hear that she fell. I'll try to send another card in a few days.

HowIs this going? Is she still getting lots of cards? Is it too late to send one now? Thanks, Susie
Please keep sending cards! Dori can no longer feed, dress, wash herself, and has lost her speech. She needs care 24/7. I'm told she smiles at her cards. I continue to send one every other day.
Thanks to all of you who have made her smile.
