I had a paypal account but only used it once. I don’t know if it is still good or not. I have a few stamps I want to sell and willing to take checks but no one wants to buy that way. I don’t know how to run a PayPal transaction when someone wants to buy. I’m an older lady and just don’t have a clue but need to sell some items.
Can someone please help me? If this type of thread is not allowed I’m sorry and administration can delete it . I’m good with that. I just need to eliminate some items and don’t know how.
As far as I’m aware, PayPal accounts don’t expire so if you had one, you should still have one. Do you still know your login details? If you’ve forgotten your password, as long as you’re still using the email address you used to sign up for your PayPal account you can use the link that says something like “trouble logging in?” to go through the process of resetting your password.
Once you’ve logged in to PayPal, you will see various options on the screen. One of those options is “request” - you can use that to request money from somebody who wants to buy something from you.
Yes, Angelnorth is correct. Another option is to give the buyer your PayPal email address, the one you used to register your account, and she/he can send it to you. Keep in mind that, unless the buyer marks it Friends/Family, you will have to pay a small fee as the seller. Also, once you log in, make sure that your bank account or credit card information is up-to-date. You can PM me if you have any other questions. I teach older adults how to use technology, including PayPal, and I'd be happy to help you.
I am a non PayPal user and find it frustrating when PP is the only option someone offers... mind you I am in Canada and that limits my choices as well. Most people aren’t open to shipping to Canada. But so many only go through PayPal ...:(
I have had a couple of Canadians willing to take my cheque and that was so very nice! I am always willing to wait until it clears, not in a hurry to get the items shipped.
So.... if the OP is willing to ship to me and take a cheque with US dollar mark up, I would love to see what you have to sell
I will see if I can go into my paypal and see if I can find the options of request.
If I can’t I will message you. Thank you so much

I am working a lot this week but the first of next week I will get my list together and let you know what I have. I do get frustrated that people don’t do checks anymore!
Thank you. And I will let you know next week.

Are you set up to do online banking? Would you be able to set up EMT payments directly into an account (through email), my bank requires a security question (that you are not supposed to give the answer to the buyer) but it could be simple enough they would know the answer. ie: what set are you buying. I like it because I get an email and once I accept, the money is there. You are not waiting for a cheque to clear or hassle through PP, and once payment is confirmed you could post the item
What about options like Google Pay or Zelle? That's a straight transfer without any fees or waiting or anything else! It works between emails and phone numbers and is usually nearly instant. If you're exchanging that info anyway (phone # or email), then you already have what you need without compromising bank accounts or credit cards. Might be the easiest option...
Another option to consider: gift certificates in exchange for products. For example, I’ve often purchased a gift certificate for someone for Papertrey Ink in lieu of a PayPal payment. Lots of companies allow you to purchase a gift certificate online. But you’d have to be pretty comfortable with the arrangement, as there is not a lot of protection for buyer or seller if the deal falls through.
