Oh my gosh! I love Autumn, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and every day up to December 25, but I dread making Christmas cards. Last year I skipped them and made New Years cards. I'll probably go the same route this year. I don't have a whole lot of Christmas items, but I'm sure I will feel so much less pressure and stress if I release about 95% of it. I'll try to fight the procrastination of this over the weekend. My admiration goes out to all of you who work on Christmas cards.
Christmas cards are just about the only holiday cards I send out on a regular basis, so I always make mine. Also make all my gift tags etc. I used to make a lot of them assembly line fashion, but now I usually make them all different, according to my mood. My Christmas card list has really been pared down, because hardly anyone sends actual cards anymore, so I don't feel the same pressure that I used to. I have made New Year cards in the past, but only if I forgot to make enough Christmas ones. New Year cards are a great way to stretch the season, and stand out from all the Christmas designs. My problem would be coming up with New Year's ideas and designs.

I don't make Christmas cards but do make New Year's cards. They aren't for the holiday of Dec 31/Jan 1 but warm wishes for the new year. Some use Christmas cards to express appreciation for friendship, for being great neighbors, for their business, etc. Somehow, that seems to me to be so much more fitting at Thanksgiving so I have been trying to send out Thanksgiving cards. I often don't get as much stamping done as I would like so don't always get the cards sent that I want to, but I keep aiming at that. I admire those of you that have your acts together...and I understand any of you who aren't quite there yet.
Stampandweave, since I could not attach the picture on the PM, here is how I used some of the clothes pins you sent.
What an adorable card and great way to use those mini clothes pins! I have some in my stash but never could figure out what to do with them, other than use them to close small paper bags for party favors.
Karen
yes I [ was thinking of smaller kids. Why do you ask?
QUOTE=hoptownracer1;22189757]Hi Linda, Were you talking about using the battery operated tea light candles? I think those would be so much safer![/QUOTE]
PIFs for Lovingpaper and Grandmasue went out today, and I will be mailiing my other PIF packages from the post office this week. Thanks for your patience!
Karen
Tea light candles are very inexpensive on Amazon. Looking forward to seeing your creation, LInda.

Karen and Lorraine, Glad yours arrived. I mailed some things in seperate envelopes, so they may arrive on different days. (although I did mail them out the same day).

Hi Chris,
Yes, another envelope arrived yesterday and I was surprise, because I wasn't expecting it. Thank you again for the PIF goodies. Those cat stickers and Halloween ones are SO cute! I was going to share them with my granddaughter's but the cat ones are almost cute not to hoard, haha!
Karen
I must have liked them too, because I bought them twice. I gave away half of the other sheet before. I just couldn't see using that many of them! lol...
Hi Leigh-Anne, I got my purple twine today and your beautiful card as well. Your card is so unique and I love the artichoke image. Is that stamp by Stampin' Up? Thanks so much for sharing your twine and sending happy mail to my mailbox.
Karen
Can ask question am I Crazy here or what? I see lot of things be marked taken. But do see items being offer up? What the deal? Thanks Linda
There hasn't been anything new, recently. Chris posted last week with her sticker and rub-ons. There was twine around the same time. Nothing new has been added. You are not missing anything!

you're very welcome Karen. yes it is Stampin' up, retired set called Homegrown
Thanks! I did a search for Stampin' Up, artichoke, but a different stamp kept coming up. The detail on this image is so beautiful and I love the bit of sparkle that you added.

Unlike the threads in the swaps, no one has to immediately post something to pif when they take an offer. That's what makes this thread a Pay It Forward. Of course you could post what you'd like to offer.
(That said, I really need to sort the things I have piled up to offer and take pictures.I am an Olympic gold medal world class procrastinator!)
Looking forward to using the twines and different things that have been sent to me. They will be perfect for my Christmas cards! I've been coloring up Christmas images.
While there is no specific date at which you have to offer something up listed on this thread, it is expected that the recipients will offer something up in a reasonable amount of time (in the near future) to keep things fair. I know there are always exceptions; illness, life events, lack of things to share, money issues, ect., I think that is the spirit of the thread. That being said, it is not a tit for tat or equal exchange; people share what they have to offer or want to share. I try to follow that guideline, even if all I have is something small to share, because I think that is fair, and I don't want anyone to feel that I am taking advantage of their kindness. And I do understand that no one HAS to share with me; if they feel I have not shared enough, it is their stuff to share as they feel. I just hope this thread is fun for everyone, and that everyone enjoys it. I know I do. I appreciate the friendships I have made here and the kindness and love that is shared! I know at times, there may be misunderstandings or miscommunications, I hope everyone knows that we are all human, and that will happen from time to time, but the spirit of the PIF is to be caring and kind.

Yes, that was the intention that I had years ago, when I started the first PIF. I'm glad to see that you're keeping it going.
Thank you Scrapjanny for starting this thread! It has been so much fun and I have got to meet so many wonderful people on here!
Thank you Arlene! I appreciate that so much!
